It's no different than raising the mound Bob Gibson style and having multiple pitchers set ERA records.

Well there is a key difference. Did they make it known they were altering the baseballs?

Maybe hes not as willing to speak out about it.

Imagine how Bob Gibson felt after he had an ERA of 1.12 in 1968 (7 starters had an ERA under 2.00) - the Yankees hit just .214 as a team and MLB said frick that...and lowered the mound by 5 inches.

MLB has always tinkered with the game when one side gets way too dominate.

I don't think it's as simple as chicks dig the long ball. I think they are always looking for that perfect balance which you're never going to have consistently.

So you link me a World Series game 7 to justify all 1-0 or low scoring games are awesome?

That wasn’t my intention. I was just pointing out that there are plenty of low scoring games that are intriguing, at any point in the year. I agree with your point as it applies to growing the game and keeping casual fans entertained.

Pretty sure the Twins have more HRs at the all-star break than for all of 2018

That was the year I was born

Not sure if that was announced prior, or if it was just corrected after the fact.

But the Sabermetricians don't need an announcement

The proof is in the pudding

Just thinking about it makes me feel like I’ve been dirty creeping on some young woman in front of thousands.

One person it doesn’t seem to be bothering is Max Scherzer.

Mike Minor thus far in 2019 has a career best 0.9 HR/9. Like you mentioned, Scherzer has been outstanding at limiting the long ball with a stellar 0.6 HR/9.

This isn’t a trend that is affecting every pitcher like some people would have you believe.

I’m enjoying it no one wants to sit through 1-0 games 3 times a week.

can't blame Verlander for being pissed off. He has a 0.81 WHIP and allowed just over 5 hits per 9 but barely has a sub 3 ERA because he's given up HRs at a rate twice above his career norm due to MLB tampering with the baseballs. In a normal run environment setting, the guy would have an ERA well below 2 right now and people would be talking about him having one of the greatest pitching seasons of all-time.

Not really. He’s getting older. There are tons of pitchers not giving up bombs at his rate.

Cry harder. There's still a lot of great pitching this year despite that.

I mean this is fair across the board for every team. So why is it ruining the game? People like more points. Baseball needed a boost and this is a great idea. I get it sucks being a pitcher more, but it is what it is.

MLB got a bit out of balance with pitchers' dominance post-steroids era until a couple years ago, so I understand the move. But it does compromise the ability of power aces and gimmicky HRs are getting tiresome. They should have done something else to modify the pitching advantage IMO, and doing so covertly by modifying the ball is kind of lame.
