Is he that big a cancer?
Probably a reason he's on his 4th or 5th team

Damn how did Durant get that value?
Mind boggling

Late to the party here but that’s a horrible trade for Houston.

Lmao
Get rid of $55 million in dead weight salary.

Durant to go with Amen, VanFleet, and Sengoon is pretty solid.

Rockets part with their most inefficient player, who had a horrific playoffs, Dillon Brooks (who did have a good season) and a Phoenix pick that they previously gave up to get Durant and 5 2nds.
Durant is still an incredible mid range and iso player which we sorely lacked
I don’t necessarily like punting on Jalen this early, but I’d rather it was him than Jabari, Amen or Alpi
This also clears the way for Sheppard to get more minutes next year

Easily the worst outlook in the NBA at this moment
Its almost remarkable how bad things look

Totally. I was just using some stats to confirm what you were saying.

If you don’t like this trade for Houston, it’s because you seriously over value Jalen Green.

Just saw the video, he was on stage doing an interview and some dude yells out to him, "You just got traded"

And they kept their 2027 Brooklyn 1st Round Swap Pick Rights, 2027 Phoenix 1st Round No Protections Pick, and their 2029 Dallas + Phoenix 1st Round Swap Picks Rights
And this would be the big thing.
The whole point of a Houston trade with Phoenix should have been to regain control of their picks. They got exactly one of their picks back.
Having a top 10 pick back is good but they also have an obscenely high payroll, few if any picks, and Booker is going to want out at some point.

Not a bad trade for Houston. Jalen Green is overrated and Dillon Brooks is overpaid.

The amount of people commenting about this trade that clearly do not watch the NBA is hysterical.
The rockets did not get worse from this trade and it is a clear improvement.
The Rockets did not trade any piece of consequence. Draft picks outside of a top maybe 5 pick do not carry significant value. Jalen Green was not developing fast enough for where this team is projected to go. Losing Dillon Brooks kinda sucks but whatever would rather have Durant and he’s just a victim of salary filler.
The Rockets are an elite defensive team that is very young and badly needs scoring. Durant gives them that even at his age. If they can get 3 years of him just being an above average catch and shoot player would be huge value to them and a massive improvement in scoring.

You’re spot on. It’s pretty amusing to be able to immediately tell who doesn’t watch the NBA. The Rockets were probably going to trade their first round pick this year anyway since they already have so many young players. Their second round picks are not of great value, and Jalen Green is not great and Dillon Brooks is whatever.
Houston gave up very little for this trade.

Why would the NBA hate this?
Takes attention away from the finals. Stern would have never allowed this to leak today, would have made them wait until tomorrow

Jalen Green isn't nearly as inefficient as some claim he is. You act like he Lonzo Ball.
Posted on 6/22/25 at 1:15 pm to PrimeTime Money
Any trade was going to include one of Brooks or FVV because of salary and one of Green or Jabari and the 10th pick. I would rather part with what we did. Who cares about second round picks. This is in line with what I was expecting it would take.

This would normally be a “need one more player” type trade for a title ready team. He is aging and not much gas left in tank. Still good on offense but not good defense due to energy required.
Also, Houston always takes sloppy seconds.
Harden, Westbrook, Adams, Jeff Green, and now Durant - all from OKC at one time.

Good deal for the Rockets. This in no way makes the Suns better. Beal Booker, and Green all play the same position lol.
PHX needs to blow it up. Trade Booker and Green. They’ll have to eat Beal for another year.
