Good. Hopefully they don’t medal at the Olympic while no one watches.

This is at the grassroots level. People want to win at 10 year old level more than teach kids how to play the game right. So they run up some plays to feed their top 2 players (sometimes just 1 kid) and that's what kids learn. Those top players usually continue this same style of play for as long as they are the top 1 or 2 guys on the team.

Meh. Countries started catching up back in the 80's when our college greats couldn't win. Then they had to change the rules so we could let professionals play. Other countries started catching up again as basketball increasingly became more popular worldwide. More foreign players getting drafted and becoming stars in the NBA. Now our best pros don't want to play because the Olympics and other global competitions don't mean as much to us as they do to other countries. It's cyclical. We will continue to lose and eventually the best US pros will band together, down the road, to bring gold back to the US.

Westbrook or Harden can facilitate and get alot of assists, but they're also very ball dominant, and Westbrook is a terrible decision maker.

Westbrook is 27-0 when playing for Team USA.
Westbrook makes everyone else try harder, that's been apparent on every team he's ever played on.

Not at this level bub.

While Australia does have NBA players, they aren't even starters and in some cases, don't even play, same with Nigeria, and the USA has 4 guys that made All-NBA teams, and 8 allstars. I know anyone can beat anyone in basketball, but that's not the case when the talent gap is that huge.

Would you expect Anthony Davis's Kentucky team to lose to some average MAC team?

I think you just made his point for him. Yes, the USA team has all those players... and still just lost to both those teams.

So what are you saying?

think you mean a winner. Kobe did what it took to win championships.

Yeah that’s why we won so many without a dominant/elite big man.

As i said, do you see the good talented Kentucky or Kansas teams losing to non tourney mid major teams? NO, b/c the talent gap is just too large.

These are some of the best players in the world losing to backups and guys that don't even play in their league.
It's one thing to get upset and lose a game you should win, but generally when something like that happens, you come back out and beat the crap out of the next team you play, not fall apart and crumble down the stretch while you let Patty Mills torch you.
