Looked it up, looks like the higher seed always hosts. Appreciate the feedback though- wasn’t sure what to expect

Wish they’d do that in football.

our UNO committ (and MLB scouted) pitcher makes this the most intriguing matchup of round 1.

we're on a 12 game winning streak (10 of those against the Bad News Bears, but still).

You act like Barbe hasn't seen good pitching at all this year. Harris is a good pitcher but, he will not beat Barbe by himself. Barbe will do one of two things.

1) Hit him hard and run rule Chalmette.
2) Work his count up until he gets pulled.(and then run rule you guys)

Agreed.

I have St. Amant at Lafayette tomorrow.

Anybody seen St. Amant?

It is definitely one of the more intriguing 1versus 32 matchup’s, however barbe is just too strong

St. Amant is a scrappy team. They have some decent players but, are down from where they have been the past few years. They don't have an Enlow, Guice, or Zepphaur that is going out on the bump.

Lafayette should handle the Gators in this one.

Probably but West Jeff did play Barbe to 3-2 game in the 1st round not too long ago. So crazier things have happened.

Barbe lost in the first round 2 years ago. Like I said before, anything can happen in a single baseball game.

Yeah, Haughton I believe.

Bats can get cold or you can hit shots right at em

I actually spoke to Cecchini about that game and how flawed the system is to arbitrarily decide which rounds are 2 out of 3.

He refused to make any excuses.

Didn’t they try and change the rules the next LHSAA meeting due to that loss?

If they did, he wasn't a part of it.

But, anybody could see that Barbe was the team to beat that year, and the whole reason for doing 2 out of 3 is to make it less likely that something like that Barbe loss doesn't happen

I'm all for 2 out of 3 each round. Cut the season a week if you need to make it fit. Baseball shouldn't be a single game elimination, ever.

Ehhh...that's the year WM had the entire team pretty much sign to play somewhere. They went 38-3 or something crazy. Lost to Central in finals, single elimination, due to a single bad inning. Central scored all 4 runs that inning with some errors/walks. I think they had 2 hits for those runs.

Crazy thing is Hilliard wasn't even on the mound that day. So even in a series, I think Central likely wins.

Kid will never see the inside of a college. He is going pro no matter where drafted. That being said, if he is on and the owls can score some runs, he could create problems for Barbe.

They aren’t accustomed to seeing the kind of pitching Barbe has.

Their sophomore RHP shut down Sam Houston.

He doesn’t lose velocity over the course of seven innings.

The SS, Davis Meche, is fun to watch. He lives or dies with every pitch when he’s in the field.

After any close pitch that’s called a ball, he turns toward the LF and goes off.
