HC definitely made the semifinals in 4A a few years ago, because they played Karr and lost… 2012

I think a bunch, probably most, of the Thursday night and Saturday afternoon games are the result of a shortage of officials
THis, Saturday games are not an option in BR. But you may start seeing saturday games when LSU/Southern are on the road. Especially for teams that want 7 person crews. One spot of relief in the official shortage is remote control for clocks so clocks can be controlled from field by officials, even though a large portion of clock operators are either new officials not ready for varsity field, injured officials or some no longer able to work on the field. from what i have seen, school reps working clocks simply does not work.

6 saturday and 4 thursday games. even if you put Fortier field in play, what fields could be used on Friday for the the other 9?

Harrell?
Tulane?
Bertolino(does it still get used?)

In laffayette Southside was used TC's field but in many cases for Other schools using privates fields for games it's a logisticaly nightmare -

This year the LHSOA started a new clocker operator slot (used to just be a normal official) for older officials who can’t run the field. They are trying to squeeze some years out of the retiring guys by keeping them on as clock operators.

yeah and that's kept a few around and brought in some officials from other sports that never wanted to be on the field. This was a move that was long over due. THe attempt at getting schools to work the play clock, simply did not work. But for playoff and TV games I like both clocks to be field capable(in case of injury to an on field crewmember) even though it's a rare situation maybe 1 in 75 to 100 games, it's a monkey wrench for mechanics when it happens.

The fields belong to school board, so yes

Even orleans parish schools have used them.

I don’t think any JP school except fisher has their own field

There are plenty of football field space to play games. And now that Lusher has their field just about finished if not already finished, fields aren’t a problem.

This week:

Pan Am has games Thurs / Fri (day and night) / Sat
Joe Yenni has games Fri and Sat (day and night)
Gormley has games Thurs / Fri / Sat
Hoss Memtas has games Thurs / Fri / Sat
Joe Brown has games Thurs / Fri / Sat

Yulman has Karr and Jesuit… they still use Bertolino for mainly Kenner Discovery games and some Bonnabel. No more Curtís there though

Also you have Jefferson playground, Pontiff playground, Newman is off, Chalmette is away, 3:30 games at Yenni and Memtsas and Behrman, not sure if Ben Franklin is available, Ecole Classique’s field even though they no longer have a team

EDIT- Ben Franklin is home Friday but Shaw is away so their field is available. Neither of the Bertolino teams are home either

Sometimes. They did an AC and D’ville game earlier this season. They’re definitely going to lean more towards the 3 main schools though. More people with interest in those schools.

Both stadiums are used by all the JP Publics except Fisher (and I think sometimes Riversdale plays at Jefferson).

East Jeff has been Rummel's home field for as long as I can remember (really thought at some point Rummel would try to build a stadium)

Shaw used West Jeff forever until they build their own stadium very recently.

I'm not sure Harrell is up to standards.

Bertolino can be used for smaller schools. Curtis used to use them a lot back when they were in 2A.

Tulane is starting to be used more and more especially for Catholic League games. Curtis will play a couple of home games there as will Jesuit.

0 oercent chance Voitier will allow that field to be rented out to another school. You know that.

Same with some pf the private school fields. Yes they may be "available" but if they aren't allowed to be rented out, they are not useful.
