Plus they had to take their best defensive player (Hetrick) and put him at linebacker which took away from the Dline

Central will be pretty loaded next year

Sophomore and if you are a fan of central you probably know that he is DS third string tailback being in the same district and all.

Junior kaleb Blanchard, last years district offensive MVP, did not dress

Senior Romell Williams, Starter last year before Blanchard took over, did not dress

Also DS's right tackle did not dress along with their starting free safety. So DS played without 3 starters, and with a 3rd string tailback

DS is young and will be good for years to come. Of their front 6 that started last night on defense, 1 is a senior. The secondary had 1 sophomore amd 1 junior start, and the FS who is injured is a junior. Blanchard will be back as a senior, and Washington (fullback who got the procedure penalty in OT) is a 225 pound freshman.

Bracey was the sophomore who ran it last night, Martin is number 2 who caught sons screen passes out of backfield is a junior

And the freshman team beat central 34-0 This week without the help of their best freshman lineman who plays varsity at 6'7" 365 pounds

The home stands arent any higher than visitor stands. If anything, I was surprised how few UHS fans there were after seeing the Episcopal game.

Didnt say I wasn't a fan, just not affiliated and have the ability to be objective

I am a fan of the kids as I coached nearly all of them when they were babies so I watch them through high school

I came back to add that Central #2 waa definitely the best athlete on the field, and I was surprised he didn't get the ball more. He ran 5 times for 70+ yards according to radio, and had the punt return for a TD, and a huge KO return. He also made some boys look foolish on a 3rd and 18 bubble screen when he got the first down.

But he probably only touched it from scrimmage 7 times, and had 100 yards. I thought central was going to try hard to get it in his hands in the second half, but they really didn't.

If he is a sophomore, he is ridiculous. I thought he was silly good when I assumed he was a senior. Gonna be tough to stop In next few years. Reminds me of carlton Perkins from walker

I think I would take the 3rd string over Blanchard. Blanchard seems pretty frail IMO

Centrals coaches finally are using him more on offense. Not enough though. Against STM and Woodlawn he had very few touches. Offensive play calling is still an issue. Maybe we were just spoiled with Mahafee and Weiner.

When watching Central its hard for me to be objective. I try to be honestly. I do enjoy watching high school football period and I will always give credit when credit is due. This district is very evenly matched with the top 4 teams. Central could have beaten Zachary as Denham could have beaten Central. With the youth in this district, it's going to be fun to watch the next year or two.

Simoneax is a good coach and one of the most commited youll find. He lives for football no joke i think he just may be a little out of his element. Hes an old Fullback in PBS triple option (so he probably was in that system since he was 6) and so hes not used to calling as many passes as they need to He still wants to run it a ton which we cant really do with the oline we have. Hes a hell of a coach though.

Rummel 48 Chalmette 6...

Owls avoid the shutout on a long fumble return with 1:28 to go...

Chalmette offense made no serious threat to score. Chalmette defense contained the run OK, but Damian Williams burned them on some deep passes

Rummel has Jesuit next week at 2:00 Saturday in Joe Yenni Stadium and Brother Martin the week after at 11:00 a.m. Saturday

Chalmette's week 10 game with Miller McCoy is more and more likely to be shaping up as a "win and you're in" game for the state playoffs

Bracey is a tough kid, but Blanchard is special when healthy

1800 yards and 21 touchdowns his sophomore year in 11 games with 9.9 yards per attempt. That's serious production. He has had terrible luck this year, but when he is healthy he is a monster

At the A&M camp he was 197 at 6'1" and ran a 4.41

He'll be back next year, and bracey will be there as well

He only played the first half in most of those games last year. He is a special player.
