Jay Roth will never win the big one, period. Rummel is good but they won't win it all.

5a is wide open this year. Rummel will not win it all. I'll PayPal bet anyone on that. Catholic is playing great but I don't know If they have the passing game. Acadiana schools worry me. Baton rouge has 3 teams that could make a run with Central, Catholic, and Scotlandville. Latest power rankings have Catholic 6 and Central 7.

Also we could see a 1 vs 32 matchup with carencro@rummel. Could it be 2 years in a row the 1 seed is eliminated first round?

threw it all over PBS......that ain't easy...

if Rummel doesn't win state it will be because the other teams were simply better - not Jay Roth.

Rummel never had this kind of prolonged success before Jay.

Scotlandville doesn't have a lot of depth.. but... they are awfully talented in the 1s....

5a is not wide open IMO. West Monroe, Barbe or Rummel will win it. I will say that I haven't really looked into Central and St.Paul this year and they normally have strong squads.

Considering location of the school, and all the schools you fight for talent with, he's had a remarkable run.

You act like winning 5A is easy or something.

If he is ever going to win it, it will be this season. The defense is really good and have a really good senior qb.

EVERY private school has to fight for students...

Much harder in NoLa post Katrina heck when a PUBLIC school can have kids from 5 parishes.....

but Jay must be winning that fight considering how many players he has from the westbank.

They are holding their own. Curtis can't fit them all.

5A in the Laffy/LC area

Barbe can't stop the run consistently and their offense is not built for bad/cold weather

Sulphur has their moments but they are mediocre at best

Acadiana is very turn over prone and inconsistent, year away

Carencro has been very inconsistent all season, year away

NISH has a nice wide open offense, suspect defense

Lafayette, Comeaux, West gate are non factors

South Lafourche is undefeated but don't have much respect due to their schedule

Rest of the bayou district is a non factor

Which team have a defense physical enough to stop Rummel on O & at the same time an O creative enough to keep Rummel D guessing... Don't forget this team has also played together throughout their entire HS career...

Central & Catholic are still in character mode... SP cannot stay consistent on O... Barbe is good at home, but what happens if they travel... WM is proven, but looks to be still rebuilding... Acadiana is young, but will be scary in the future... Sulphur, NISH, & Carencro are all capable, but just unpredictable...

Winner: Rummel

Don't underestimate the br area 5A teams. IMO Central and Catholic are better then Barbe. Rummel had a close one with denham springs. Rummel will not be able to stop Central or Catholic. Book it. Central can run and throw and will have rummel on their heels all game.

Rummel will go farther in the playoffs then central or catholic. And it's not even close. Book it
