So how many coaches have been with a team as long as Lewis has been with the Bengsls....

In the regular season.... what do pro sports teams strive for??? A nice regular season or a nice ref season and a championship????? In today's NFL it's amazing for s coach to be at one place for over ten years and win during the regular season and not even get one win in the post season....

Giving them millions of dollars has the opposite effect from motivation.

interesting fact, the pre-game speech from the head coach to the team to "motivate them" is actually on Saturday night after the team dinner before the game on Sunday
in the locker room before the game there are too many meetings and details for a Rah Rah speech

He is 100% correct. This is not college football, these are professionals.

Ben McAdoo said basically the same thing about three weeks ago and got killed for it (rightfully so). It'll be interesting to see if Lewis gets similar treatment in the press.
I'm not of the opinion that a coach has to be rah-rah or anything, but being able to bring out the best in your players, and as a result in your team, is the job of the coach.
Lewis is trying to shift blame. That's all.
