Our HS ran the Jet with an occasional handoff to the back in the back field or a QB keeper. Won 9-10 games a year very easily. They always had 3-4 very fast kids. Now, it’s spread offense with new coach and not as much success.

What if I told you more than one HS team in Louisiana still runs the Notre Dame Box?

The Slot T Mafia runs shite in south and large parts of central texas. They are very secretive about sharing their offense but the teams that run it well are extremely frustrating to play against. Liberty Hill in the Austin area has one of the best programs in Texas running it when they would probably be just an average to good program if they were running shotgun spread concepts

Our HS coach administers the pee wee league and all the teams run his offense and defense. Same for the middle school.

That’s exactly what I’m talking about.

People wonder how John Curtis won 20 something state championships. It’s simple, the kids literally grow up playing in the same offensive and defensive scheme

Fine, they recruit players who grow up playing the same offensive and defensive scheme. Happy now? A good friend of mine was Curtis’s QB for 3 years in the early 2000’s. He said they had the playbook memorized before freshman year because they ran the same thing in middle school. Won 3 state titles all 3 years

I like it… helps kids develop what the are going to do in high school for the most part, but coaches sometimes come and go so much that offenses change.

Played Albany this week, they ran a full house backfield with everything being misdirection. Our kids were lost on where the ball was…. They beat us, it not because their players were better, bc of the above.

Made me realize that if you are just interested in winning in middle school - DO THAT

I blame Chalmette High’s coaches. Tucker should bring in every middle school coach for a coaching clinic. Give the coaches the basics of CHS offense and defense so the kids know it when they get to CHS
is Chalmette open enrollment?

What do we think all the small town 2As about the size of Curtis do? Do you not think they’ve picked up on the little kids running what the high school runs? But yet some of them suck…

Curtis has done this since the 70's. There's a reason why they usually don't beat themselves. When you're running the same Offense and Defense since 4th grade, there's not many mental mistakes.

Here in East Tennessee Maryville HS has won 17 state championships. Every middle school that feeds into the school runs the same offense and defense that they do, or at least they did. If a kids a senior they've had the same scheme and terminology for 7 years.

Whatever, you’ve completely missed my point while ignoring other post on how well it’s worked in other areas.

Correct, and that’s the point. You don’t commit as many mental mistakes when you know what you’re doing. You also are executing at full speed because you’re not having to think.

The Dutch punch above their weight in international soccer for such a small country. The reason is because they instituted the same scheme nationwide starting in youth soccer. By the time the kids get to the senior level, they are a well oiled machine.

That’s all they play in football.

In other sports they play other teams.

That's on their coach. Any self respecting defensive coach would never allow any of his players to have eyes in the backfield. The Oline tells you where the ball is going not the backs.

Rick Gaille's St James Wildcats teams!!!! They put a spanking on Chalmette when my little brother played for Rick.... His teams were special...not the greatest offensive lines but skill players were FAST
