Ten years from now, in 2033, the Padres will pay Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Xander Bogaerts a combined $100M.

And gonna pay Yu till he's 42 as well, though that won't get them to 2033 - I would be willing to bet he has at least 2 or 3 significant IL stints before he hits his number.

Baseball needs more owners like the Padres and Mets and less like the A's, O's, Marlins, Rays, and others like them

yeah, no

we have them with ny, boston, and LA

Need teams who dont tank, and are competitive, and in playoffs, build from with in, and make good trades.

Be interesting to see what happens with Soto. Potentially could have close to $140M committed to 4 guys for 10 years

Cohen could buy the Red Sox and make them a Mets minor league affiliate

Albies spoke with Jayson Stark of The Athletic. He said the Braves plan to run wild.

“I think it’s gonna be an awesome year,” he began. “It’s gonna be a lot more running game for sure.”

So does that fit into his team’s plans? Albies smiled.

“Yes,” he said, “because we have a lot of speed runners in our lineup that can easily get 20 to 25 bags a year. Why not?”

So let’s start with Acuña. What is he capable of?

“He can easily get 40 to 50 bags by himself,” Albies said matter of factly.

“I’ll take 30-30,” he said. “But my goal is to go 40-40.”

Then what, we asked, was Harris going to do? For the record, he had 19 homers and 20 steals last year as a rookie, or 24/31 if you include his 43 games in the minor leagues. So is he headed for 30-30?

"40-40,” Albies retorted confidently

MLB.com: What are you thoughts about Michael Harris II?

Jones: Michael Harris is a superstar. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. I saw him coming up and immediately thought he was a left-handed Ronald Acuña [Jr.]. He’s just a phenomenal kid. He works hard. He’s the kind of guy you really pull for. The core is here. We’ve got five or six studs in the starting lineup. The key is keeping them healthy all year and providing this pitching staff with as much offense as we can

How many MVPs will Atlanta have next year? Can Riley and Michael Harris share the award?

I think I’m one of the maybe five Redsox fans here and I’m positive they would agree when I say that Boston is not like those other two.

They should spend like that, but Chaim Bloom is a Tampa Bay Ray secret agent that has compromising photos of John Henry.
