Goldy was my NL MVP until Az's collapse and Yelich late season flurry, he had carried a weak Az lineup to the West lead all season.

Cards appear thieves if he resigns.

I love this trade. I would have thought Diamondbacks would have gotten more back. Weaver will never be anything more than a #5 starter. Kelly was blocked by Molina for 2 more years. And Young might be a utility player someday.

finally consolidated some value

farm system keeps churning out serviceable guys, been needing to combine some to get some more star power

hope he doesn't have an unknown-to-the-public ailment like Osuna had this year.

I was looking at 2020 FA's earlier. 1B is a total dumpster fire outside of Goldy, unless you count then-34 year old Abreu. There is literally no one else of note.

Dude is going to get paid.

Third base meanwhile is stacked. Arenado, Rendon, Donaldson again.

I have been pondering a Goldschmidt trade for some time now. I thought it would take some combination of Hudson/Helsley, Kelly/Knizner, O’Neill/Garcia/Arozerena, Montero, etc. To get him for even less is icing on the cake. Remember when people were saying the team was nuts to give Molina that new deal? Molina showing no signs of slowing down pushed Kelly right out the door.

Health has never been a problem for him. There are no hidden injuries.

Here’s a look ahead to next year’s FA class for those who might have missed it.

Osuna has everything to play for, this season. His first chance to make big money, long term.

Not sure if we will shell out that kind of dough for a 1B with the guys we have coming up for contracts but I wouldn’t be opposed

Yeah, plus we all saw what Ozuna did after the shot and rest in August, absolutely mashed in September. Had the shoulder scoped right after the season ended and I expect him to mash in 2019.

Goldy will re-sign and then grab Arenado next class is a wet dream.

Such a garbage statement. Cardinals are a lot better. Brewers are better too. Cubs are at best the 3rd best team in the NL Central. The Cubs time is over.

Carlos Carrasco has signed a 3-yr extension with the #Indians and will be paid $37.25M from 2020-22. @Ken_Rosenthal had extension first

Carrasco's extension takes him off the trade market and means the #Indians will now be focused on moving Trevor Bauer or Corey Kluber.
