However, on a 50/50 the players COULD actually make more, it isn't likely with no fans but it is possible

If there is no season, I hope the Red Sox sign Mookie Betts in the off season.

Would make the off season trade infamous.

I think the Dodgers would retain him for another year.

If there is no season, and he isn't paid, then there is no year on the deal to be counted.

I think the way it was structured was going to eliminate the possibility of the players riding the upswing and growing their take during the recovery.

In theory, your right and they could make out like bandits with a 50-50 split. But the owners won't actually let it happen.

This is mentioned in the article, but it's what Scott Boras was talking about when he said they're trying to privatize the gains and socialize the losses.

There are plenty of first round picks that get their fair share... Overall most rookies get screwed.... So not sure your point... Plus plenty are signing deals before they ever step foot in an MLB stadium.

I don't believe that the season won't be played.

However, if it's not played, frick the players.

Eh, they agreed to a deal only for the owners to come back and ask for more concessions. Why wouldn't your outrage be aimed at the owners?

the players agreed to play under prorated salaries. the owners then immediately started asking for more concessions. im sorry, i get why the players would be upset and not want to bend here

I hate how the owners claim they're going to "lose" money. It just means they'll make $5 billion instead of $10 billion.

The players should get prorated salaries - no more, no less. Both sides need to suck it up before they do damage that will extend beyond this season.

This is the part where you can be mad at the players. fricking over minor leaguers and amateurs.

If everything is true and they get 40% of their revenue from people being in the stadium and they won't get their full tv deals, then yes I believe they will lose money paying 50% of salaries. Maybe a few millions for each franchise but it wouldn't surprise me if it hit the billions total

Owners and Players Union negotiate thru the media.

I bet we get a peep out of media from the MLBPA head, claiming Players want to get a deal done.
