yeah. He is hardly ever talked about.

Even that year. Which was like 5 years ago.

He is one of the best DEF players in football every year. A future HOF. Cant even get out of his own teammates shadow.

I don't know Les, somewhere along the line I think he maybe became "overrated"...JMHO though.

ETA: could be because I always expect a lot out of him and he just hasn't been delivering.

Too each his own. He has always delivered.

he has 10 pass breakups this year. which is tied for 10th in the league. His INTs haven't came until last week, but he has 3 which is pretty good, considering the top guy in the league only has 5

Yeah and Ed Reed only has 20 tackles compared to 44 for the guy who happens to have 5 picks. there is more to delivering than a few picks. But you're right, to each his own, I just value a guy who can lay the hat and snatch the ball out of folks hands.

Right, he's a cover guy with only 3 picks. Seems to me he could be contributing elsewhere when he happens to be lacking in a certain area.

You have to admit, he's having a bit of a down year.

AND: I'm talking about compared to the old Ed Reed that had 71 solos as a rookie(with 5 or 6 INT's) and used to stay in the upper 50's or mid 60's each year..........and since he hasn't been doing that, I really don't see him as underrated anymore.

Kris Jenkins in a walk up until about a week ago when he started getting some national pub.

Lack of teams throwing at him?

10 pass breakups...he's been around the ball enough. He just spent a lot of time on the field doing nothing from like weeks 4-10. And I recall him getting beat up on during a few games within the division...........regardless, he's Ed Reed, he's probably the first guy who comes to mind when I'm thinking DB. He's hardly what I'd call underrated.

I agree with this. He eats linemen for breakfast. I actually think he's as dominant as Haynesworth.

I know this might sound very homer-ish, but I think Laron Landry is becoming the next great safety. The way they play him (a 2nd year guy) shows how much confidence they have in him. Most of their formations have him lining up as the single deep safety, and he still makes plays. Those are his stats for the year:
47 tackles, 0.5 sack, 1 INT, 8 PD. For a guy in the position he's playing, those are pretty impressive, not to mention up until a couple of weeks, he was playing with a hamstring injury since week 1.

well my homer guy would be Corey Webster: 32 solos, a sack and 3 picks...also 16 break ups. And I hate everything Giants, just hard to watch them play this year and see him not making a difference. I think he finally arrived.

and yeah, I love Laron too. Just hate that these frickers have to be division rivals.

Yeah, I really think Corey has finally come along. He's playing like a legit top notch corner.
