Well, I think this really gets to the guts of why people are really upset with this. Her fans are with her. The people who don't like her anyway, don't like her anyway. Good for her for sticking to her guns here regardless of how the media can be.

I had a friend who every time we played poker would make the joke “how much are the black chips worth? 3/5 of a white chip.” He’s become the biggest virtue signaling liberal I know, literally told people to unfriend him on Facebook if they disagree with him. He should cancel himself.

All liberals have mental issues by definition because liberalism is a mental disorder

She did. What do you think this is all about? She decided that it was not in her best interest to meet the terms Roland Garros required, so she, since she's her own boss, chose to bow out. She did exactly what you're asking her to do. What's the problem?

Where did I say it was a problem? She couldn't meet the requirements and left. Her prerogative. I can still think it's a shitty way to be. It's a weakness of character. Don't agree to play if you're not prepared for the obligations incurred.

She is. That’s why she withdrew from the French Open.

Im sure it sucks to get up and talk to the media when you lose and plenty of people aren’t comfortable with it in general.

It's part of the job though, if she can't do it there's plenty of other stuff she can do.

Im not minimizing if she actually is anxious, but I've had people quit my accounting firm because the deadlines made them anxious. You can't pick and choose which parts of your obligations you want to uphold and not have consequences

In addition to my previous post, I think this is fair.

There are responsibilities to the jobs you have. You can’t necessarily pick and choose the things you like and only get to do those. I’ve struggled with depression for a long time, so I get it. Ive had to change jobs because of some struggles it’s created.

I think it’s fair to ask the media to respect her in the struggle, and to be better about some of the questions they ask. But if you do want to be a professional athlete, that is part of what you sign up for. If it makes life difficult enough to where you are struggling mentally, it’s ok to find something else to do.

I mean, she was literally born in Japan, and is 1/2 Japanese 1/2 Haitian. What’s the problem with her competing for Japan?

Is getting attention for mental health issues the newest thing your queens are going to use to steal attention away from actual victims?

Y’all get so upset over how other people behave and don’t realize you’re just as bad as what you hate. It cracks me up.

We hate the media, until an athlete doesn't want to talk to them, and then we hate the athlete.

I have no idea what the state of her actual mental health is so I don’t want to necessarily comment on that.

It can be hard to feel bad for people who make millions of dollars a year playing a sport and can control their own schedule, but I don’t want to downplay that they can’t have their own struggles as well.

I already stated that it is a responsibility she has to speak at press conferences. I think the media and athletes both are very entitled in today’s society feeling like they deserve everything, and that any hard thing needs to be eliminated.

That’s not the way the world works, and hopefully she comes to understand that (but when you’re surrounded by people who tell you what you want to hear all the time that’s not the way it normally works).

Tennis can be the most entitled of people because tennis parents are actually the worst.

You do realize this describes the former president, #45, to a T. He was the biggest cry baby about the " media is treating me unfair!". Guess he was a marxist too?? LOL!!!
