Leaving TJ on the bench for the 4th when he took over the 3rd is an all time stupid as frick move for a coach. Haliburton hasn't made a field goal in a game 5.

As good as Rick Carlisle has been this postseason, that was an all time bad decision.

I get giving TJ a little breather at the start of the 4th, but I absolutely expected him to come back in around the 9 minute mark, ESPECIALLY with Hali playing with the injury and giving you nothing through 3 quarters. You have to ride the hot hand.

Who knows? Maybe the Pacers steal the game if he gets back in.

Tyrese Haliburton is the first ALL-NBA player to miss every shot in a Finals game since 1958

Late edit for perspective on Hali:

Also OKC

The first team in NBA history with

15+ steals
12+ blocks

in a Finals game

Someone pulled Jalen Williams to the side after game one and reminded him that the Pacers took Bennedict Mathurin before him in the 2022 NBA Draft

If you re draft the 22 draft how are you picking it .....chet, paolo, williams

Also, injury luck is huge. OKC is about to make it through their entire playoff run playing one healthy team (twolves).

You know who else has had injury luck? The Pacers. The difference is the teams they played actually had players miss games. Ja is the only player that missed any time against OKC and they were already down 2-0.

Pacers also got to play the Knicks because Tatum got hurt. They’ve benefited from injury luck much more than OKC.

Boston lost that series in games 1-2. Denver and Cleveland were both pretty banged up in round 2 so it’s not even really worth debating imo.

Cleveland had multiple players miss games, Denver didn’t have a single one.

I picked OKC in seven so I hope it goes the distance.

This series was over when Scott Foster took over the 4th quarter of the last game unfortunately.

Oh you mean the G4 4th quarter that saw Indy get in the bonus way earlier then OKC, almost entirely on off ball foul calls; not shooting fouls?

I swear, basketball has the highest number of casual fans of any sport. And it's not close.

Wonder what would happen if they just let both teams play basketball in the 4th quarter.

Would be a massive advantage for OKC considering how fast Indy got in to the penalty in 4Q of G4. But stick to those narratives!

How is that not a foul on Nesmith using his forearm on Chet's shoulder for the previous dunk? He just over his back, held him down with his forearm and used that to jump higher?

With all the free throw merchant noise, bad whistle, etc: Chet has gotten absolutely hosed this entire series. I could post like 10 different video tweets where he's getting absolutely hammered with no foul call. I don't get it.

It probably lost them the series. Carlisle does some dumb shite sometimes with his lineups

Carlisle says game time decision.

I’d sit him and see if they can win and force a game 7, then bring him back for that. Playing him hurt is a net negative and there’s no margin for error.

But if they don’t play him and the Thunder figure out McConnell, it’s a blowout. Tough call.

Just saw a post that this is also the first time during their entire playoff run that Indiana has faced elimination.

It was also the first time they didn’t start a series 2-0, and the first time they’ve trailed in any series. Uncharted territory for them tomorrow.

Remember indy has had some terrible luck with their stars and injuries over the years. Jermaine O’Neal and his knees, Danny Granger and his knee, Paul George’s leg. Oladipo’s knee. They shut Hali down in the ECF last season when he aggravated his hamstring injury. I would guess he suits up but doesn’t start and is available in an emergency then maybe after a few more days of treatment he could give it a go in a potential game 7.

The key to winning tomorrow is Nembhard. They will probably start Sheppard if Hali sits but i think you probably have to go Mathurin.

I get why y’all don’t bother but I wish y’all would show up in these threads during the game I can’t be out here checking all the BS myself.

I guess JZ could afford the loss of a million on the winner happening in the fourth game.
