Naw, they wouldn't overtake ESPN but if they could somehow get Dan Patrick and SVP on a show together...

Good, let ESPN lose their best.

Is this a ploy to have SVP and Dan Patrick together?

If they have Dan Patrick and Scott Van Pelt then that would be nothing but positive for them.
That would make their version of Sportscenter good but they'd still lag way behind in actual sports on TV.

Boxing on HBO
Waiting on Larry Merchant to die is somewhere in there. His boxing preview show is hilariously bad (the one where the boxers sit in chairs backwards and face each other).

Still can't be worse than I Max.

No that's why he should bend ESPN over for plenty money.
I don't think ESPN likes people that people like. Look at their other lineups.

He's bald?
No, he actually makes sense and has intelligent, coherent thoughts. Something you don't normally see coming out of ESPN. Their MO is all about characters that take wild stances and defend them. SVP doesn't fit that mold. He should move to NBC.

Van Pelt and Russilo are both great....but Russilo is the one about to really blow up. He's knowledgeable, both sports and pop culture, he has good delivery, and he is funny as hell.

Guess where Max is now.........back on ESPN
LINK
I don't think SVP will bolt. He's newly married and seems to enjoy radio too much with Russillo

If SVP would leave, ESPN should just give the slot to Russilo. I don't know who he'd partner with though.

Him and Gottleib have a good relationship and put on a good show when SVP is out
Obviously there would be a conflict with Doug's own show

They play off one another really well. I still like the show when it's just one or the other, but you can't beat both together.

I like that both SVP and Russillo both aren't afraid to call out their own network.

Dan Patrick has regressed. Dude is nothing more than a talking head. He's like the puppet master on that show. The only ones who know sports are his cohosts. He just mediates and runs the show
SVP is the total package and defines the "new age" sports personality IMO
