How so? Its not like these guys have any trade value whatsoever
Yeah they do, but the question is whether a guy like Deng or AI with their contracts are more valuable than just letting Peja/Mopete expire with all the CBA shite going on.

You do also realize that the Heat could sign Bosh and Bron ? Same with CHI, but that can't happen cause you can do that in NBA 2K 10 right....?
signing 2 free agents of this caliber if you have the money= realistic
trading for 2 All stars, signing another fringe All star(Gay) as well as a very capable big man, and former all star(ONeal)= not realistic
yes, i know what a sign and trade is.
the whole point of a sign and trade is to get player or players back.
New Jersey is prob the worst team to offer a sign and trade to Toronto for Bosh, considering they have nothing to give up. Esp in your scenario, when they are trading Lopez to NOLA for CP3.
Why would they want Devin Harris when they have Jose Calderon? its just a stupid theory, to be blunt

Yeah the new CBA could effect trading expirings. We have no idea how the salary cap will be structured, so a lot of teams won't want to take on contracts.
Anyway...
I just went on a NJN MB and they were scoffing at the idea of including Lopez in any deal, even if we threw in our 11. The seem to think #3, Yi, and Williams is more than enough value. Funny stuff.

No we don't. I've been asking since last year WHO would both be a good fit for the Hornets and someone else's garbage contract. The only 2 names I've heard mentioned were Kevin Martin from Sacramento, who is now in Houston and presumably off the table, and Igoudala. Maybe if we could get Iggy for just Peja it'd be ok, but I'm not willing to give up any of our core or our #11 to do it. I just don't see that as a franchise saving move.
Why don't you think we can get lucky 2 years in a row with the draft Slow, especially in a draft this deep? Do you agree that getting 2 legit players like we did with DC and MT last year would change things quite a bit? What do you think of a lineup like I listed before, which isn't very unrealistic assuming Chouest is willing to spend some money to rebuild the roster.
CP3/DC
Paul George/MT
Travis Outlaw/Paul George
West/Okafor
Okafor/Larry Sanders

getting DC is somewhat irrelevant b/c we have cp3
it's certainly redundant

Ok, one more time....they can trade for CP3 and Emeka. And STILL be able to sign Bosh(no sign and trade involved whatsoever)
And then still have Harris and an expiring in Dooling if they can find another trade they'd like. Indiana, Menphis, Charlotte are just examples of teams who they could possibly swing a deal with.

That's certainly doable if Chouest is willing to go that far over the lux. They would have to buy a pick around 20 to get Sanders, that's about 3mill right there.
Outlaw for the MLE. Outlaw and George as the wings would be a very long, athletic backcourt with some versatility, assuming George pans out.
You would probably have to try and dump contracts like Songaila/MoPete/Wright, because I don't think anyone, even Chouest, would want to be over the tax that much.
But that's a doable, pretty decent team.

Travis Outlaw is not any good, don't get suckered in to him.

Long term one of the two will go, but that's irrelevant to the point that NO got lucky and drafted 2 top 5 rookies with the 21st and 43rd picks. I think in such a deep draft they can get lucky again. I'll take your dodge of my question as quietly admitting that a blockbuster trade involving our current expirings isn't the only way to avoid being FUUUUCKED.

If you could dump just the contracts you mentioned, you'd be under the tax. But dumping medium sized contracts this year will likely be harder than dumping all those small contracts last year.

I'll leave that call up to the man who made him. If Monty thinks it's a good idea I'm ok with it. We don't really need a stud SF, just a solid one that can run, play decent D and hit the 3.

These trade CP3 threads always go 8+ pages and are nothing but spiraling hypotheticals that have no basis in reality.
Can't we discuss the trading of Cp3 when there is at least some smoke before we start yelling fire?

Yeah Monty Williams turned Travis Outlaw into a pretty good player. I'd take him.

Lol he's not man, dude can't shoot for shite, hardly puts the ball on the floor. If you want him to be Trevor ariza, he's not that good. He plays solid D though but his shooting was horrendous this year

Would you watch this team?
PG- Collison/Thornton
SG- Thornton/George
SF- George/Damion James
PF- West/Favors
C- Lopez/Favors
Basically CP3/Okafor for Lopez/#3/#23 from Nets.
Hornets go
#3 Favors
#11 George
#23 James
The Nets then have the best center in the game and a solid starter Eastern Conference starter in Okafor(people are forgetting this). That puts the Nets at $46.28 million for next year. One reason they have to get rid of the other first round pick is it automatically counts against the cap if used. The Nets would only need to package like $6million more in a sign and trade to get Bosh, Amare, or Lebron.
If this happened the Hornets would be way under the cap after next season with a lot of talent.

#23 belongs to the TWolves, although it reportedly is up for sale. The Nets have #27. Still at #27 you can probably get at least one of the defensive small forwards like James, Ebanks, or Robinson.
