No, they're butthurt that the NFL is more popular.

I doubt anyone cares about what is more popular.

You must have missed all of the weekly threads on here from overly sensitive college football posters.

I've watched less NFL games this year than any other year (through 4 weeks).

College isn't that much better

it really isn't.

and this particular board (MSB) doesn't have hardly any good CFB threads anyway

the main ones that are good are the bet threads or the game threads.

more people care about the NFL in general though, the numbers do not lie.

but the amount of flags in NFL games has become unacceptable. Anyone who says otherwise has no credibility at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why did you ignore the flags part? As a Saints fan, I feel that we've been benefiting from it more than we've been hurt by it. We had several drives artifically sustained last night as a result. An illegal touching penalty on 3rd down comes to mind. My friends and I watching were honestly annoyed by it.

While I've all but written off the season this year for obvious reasons, I would still like to watch other teams on SNF and MNF, but it's getting to be less and less fun to watch. It really is damaging the product, just not sure how you can address the issue proactively from the top down.

Cause I agree there are too many flags. I have not problem with pre-snap penalties, but there is too much holding and pass interference called.

"Hands to the face" is a phrase I've heard way too many times this year.

I understand if it's a lineman jacking up another lineman, but some of the calls I've seen wouldn't have qualified for the old-style 5 yard incidental face mask. A Corner literally brushing against the neck of a receiver got flagged last night

With the penalties now:

-You can't touch them past 5 yards or it's illegal contact.

-You can't touch them at all when you try to bat the ball away or its holding/PI.

-You can't hit them after they catch the ball until they hit the ground because "defenseless receiver".

I mean shite I really don't know what option the DB has besides either standing in front of the receiver and try to pick it or just wait until the receiver catches the ball and lands to try to tackle him. Anything else is a penalty.

Add to that the fact that they have changed the name of a "pick play" to a "rub route" and refuse to call a penalty on obvious infractions, you basically have no real opportunity be a great cover man.

College football is a better watch at this point. I watch the saints because im programmed to do so

I've got to be honest, I'm in the same boat. I can't remember the last time I watched a non-Superbowl NFL game that didn't include the Saints. Its just not interesting anymore.

Honestly, the Bountygate season kinda did me in.

True. The NFL found a really good way to make a lot of money by appealing to people who aren't really football fans.

My NFL watching experience has morphed into checking with the Redzone channel about an hour during the 1 o'clock games and an hour and a half during the 4 o'clock games. Only way the NFL is tolerable anymore.

It really is sad that an offense can be bailed out on a 3rd and 30 because a defensive lineman accidentally touched an offensive lineman's facemask.
