Why the frick does ND get a special MOU with playoff guarantees?

If the playoffs go to 14 teams, ND gets in if they’re at least 13th.

This only applies to a 12 or 14 team playoff.

The only positive if the bowl system collapses is that maybe it means that all of the playoff rounds until the championship game will be on campus instead of bland arse neutral site atmospheres at the NY6 bowls.

At least that’ll make conference title games maintain some importance if both teams are in playoff positions regardless of CCG outcome since home field advantage in the playoffs are on the line.

Oh no, the MSB’s feelings are hurt that ND is choosing to not risk injury in a meaningless game that no one (including the MSB) would watch/care about and that would have had numerous NFL opt-outs and not been a true reflection of the team anyways. The horror!

BYU/ND would've been a great game too. And I'm sure all those midwest ids on ND would've enjoyed a free vacation to Orlando during the winter time.

I think they got fricked but this is a pathetic reaction and will make it even less likely the committee takes them as an independent.

Guess what...

As part of a memorandum of understanding signed last year that guarantees that the field will have at least 12 teams in 2026 and beyond, Notre Dame would be guaranteed a spot if it finishes in the top 12 starting next year.

11 titles or championships when everyone else was really poor?

Now the playing field is more level and the physical prowess metric weighs heavier than SAT Scores suddenly its "How dare they keeps us out of the Championship run?! Then we just won't play!".

fricked up for the players. Everyone who has played football would give anything to strap on the pads again.

I’m sure the players had a say in this.

I always loved Bowl games growing up. Seeing different matches. It also meant we were smack dab in the middle of the holidays. The playoffs have ruined college football more than NIL and the transfer portal combined.
