Hey, you started the thread whining about the SB being played outdoors. Your stadium couldn't even keep the lights on.

I see the Dolphins leading the Steelers in the snow in Pittsburgh. Doesn't seem to be affecting them.

here's what you don't get... in every other super bowl in history, it ranged between 0 and 10%

this one the chance will be about 40% or so

i don't have a problem with having the game outdoors...

you could have the game, without all the ancillary crap and maybe 40K people in the stands!!!!

Didn't football start in the north, outdoors, with 0 fricks given about the snow?

40% chance of precipitation in a month is the dumbest thing ever. So if it snows one day within the month then that 40% chance turns into 100%

It also started as a combination of rugby and soccer, with no pads, no huddles, no forward pass, no television, no headsets, no stadiums

Do we still wear leather helmets?

What a lot of you forgetting about is the surrounding area if the stadium as well. If a storm hits that area the same weekend, the entire area and it's public transportation could all be shut down. Fans/players could potentially not even be able to make it to the stadium to play the game itself.

i'm counting cold weather in with that, not just snow

that does affect the game, right?

every other super bowl ever we've had good temperature and no game-affecting precipitation (or we've been in a dome)

It would have to be a rare monster blizzard to completely shut down norhern cities. We're talking about NY/NJ, not Dallas.

40F and above, temperature not a factor.
32F-39F, temperature sometimes a factor, depending on the team.
-31F, temperature more likely a factor.

But just get over it and deal with it. Sometimes you play football when it's cold.

Check the Philly game, you want this to be the Super Bowl?

It probably wouldn't be fair to the players but it would make great TV, I sure as hell want this kind of weather but worse!!!!

I haven't read this whole thread, but I'm sure a couple of retards have said "FOOTBALZ 'POSE TO PLAY N' SNOW." If football was still run oriented, and it was all about featured backs, then sure. There is nothing entertaining about waiting receivers slipping every time they try to make a cut.

This Detroit and Philly game is very entertaining. I guess if you are used to being outdoors, you can appreciate the challenges weather brings.

In 8 weeks Super Bowl XLVIII will be played outdoors in NJ! Could today's #weather in DC, B-more, Philly, PIT, Cincy, & Gr-Bay be a preview?
