Season's early. Still trying to figure out their lineup. Threw 10 different pitchers in the 2 losses Saturday against Barbe and Sam Houston. I'm not a fan of 4 games in 3 days. Makes coaches do crazy things. Like throw a kid for 127 pitches in the second week of the year.

Brusly defeats Morgan City 6-1

Brusly moves to 7-0 ... Brusly faces St James, E D White and Berwick over the weekend.

So Barbe wins 2-0 on a no hitter to stay undefeated

It's a shame they are having another down year

i don't think we quite have what we had last year on offense (and senior Dom Curole whom we were counting on is out with a hand injury and a broken rib in a car accident) when we won 27 games... but we have a college prospect #1 pitcher, Rafe Schindler, and a nice #2, Kobe Cazes, for when the playoffs come... beat one of them, and we're in trouble for game 3...

the schedule our coach Barwick put together is suicidal, but if we come out the other side, the power ratings will thank us. they voted on the new formula for the baseball power ratings at the LHSAA that weighted district games and opponents wins much more highly than your own wins, so next year, we'll be golden, but this year with the old formula, it will be a struggle (but district 8-5A will be a minor annoyance)

one odd thing is that with 9 teams playing baseball, the district is only playing once each and then the top 4 teams will have a tournament in April to crown the district champion... not sure who else does that, but we're trying to limit our exposure to teams like Helen Cox, West Jeff, and Landry-Walker... you can pencil us, Ehret, and East Jeff into it right now, and the 4th spot will be between Bonnabel, Higgins, and Grace King who will be looking to bounce back from last year

I like the way 2-5A does district. 3 game sets with the first game at one team's place, then the next 2 at the other team's place. Last year it was a Thursday game then double header Saturday. I think this year is more Thursday/Friday/Saturday but same format of 3 games against one opponent.

Sounds like you're mad that Enlow dominated WM most of the night. St. Amant should've won 4-3 when they threw out WM baserunner at 1st by at least a step. Kid was sliding and I guess the umpire was impressed by WM's "hustle" or some other bull crap.
Boldin popped up to left and ball game should've been over.
West Monroe hit the ball hard maybe 3-4 times.

And St Amant hit the ball hard exactly once the entire night. Two of their 4 hits were bunts and the other was an end capper over SS. Both starting pitchers did well. 127 pitches in his second outing of the year is questionable at best, detrimental in most cases. Kid is a great pitcher. Hopefully he'll stay healthy for his entire career.

But I do agree St Amant should've won.

Any idea how hard Enlow throws? Looked like he was bumping 90 with a nasty curve that froze several hitters.

I'm thinking of going to OCS vs PBS instead of WM vs Chalmette. Depends on when I get out of wedding rehearsal.

West Monroe's first round opponent last year. I think it ended up 15-2 or something in that vicinity for WM. Central beat them 9-0 last night I think. I haven't seen them yet though. They had a nice little pitcher that came in too late last year.
