Word is he takes out an insurance policy if he has to give away free furniture. But I can’t confirm.

Shouldn't everyone who bought $3k in furniture place a hedge bet of their own?
Why?
Were people just out there buying this furniture for the sake of the bet not because they needed new furniture?

I bought 17 mattresses so I really need Houston to win

Exactly. These were people in the market for bedding and went to Gallery instead of other options.

Mack is a phenomenal motivational speaker as well. He spoke at a show we had one time and it was awesome. Religious dude too.

I think he's suggesting if you spent 4k in furniture maybe put 2,000 bucks on the nats. So if the Astros win you get all that furniture for 2k. And if the nats win you still get it for only 2k.
As opposed to letting it all ride.

He also owns a thoroughbred stallion named runhappy. Was a great sprinter. He’s paying 100k to anyone who buys a runhappy baby and wins a race next year at Saratoga amddel mar

Mack also was quite a runner himself. Therefore, the runhappy name for his horse. He ran many marathons over the years. In addition to all his Harvey donations, he has given millions to scholarships through the Rodeo (HLSR) and also he's given a lot to heart disease organizations. His dad and brother both died with heart problems and Mack (although not a smoker and an avid exerciser/runner) had a heart attack himself. He is a great speaker and overall classy person.

Although this article says he’s sold over 4K mattress’s as of the date of this article
so if everyone of those people buying a mattress spent the refundable 3 grand, that's still only 12 milion

quote:$3000 is the minimum some of those mattresses run up to $5k depending on all the “bells and whistles”.

Overall I'd say his bet was brilliant. Without the bets, he loses money if Houston wins and breaks even if Washington wins.
With the bets, he loses money if Washington wins, but breaks even if Houston wins (probably a small loss since he laid odds on most of the bets).

It’s almost as if he’s hedging his bets

mattres mack is a genius. he figured out how much he might lose on furniture if the astros win. so he put a bet down where if the astros lose, his earnings from furniture create a profit over his lost bet money. and if the astros win, his bet winnings create a profit over what he has to cover in furniture
