AA's thorough vetting of everyone who comes in has probably hurt this team. They have the same problem the Falcons have. Everyone has to be a boy scout. There isn't anyone with an edge who will kick guys in the arse when it's needed because AA insists that everyone has to be a passive nice guy.

I don't think that's it.

We stood with Ozuna (good decision) but let the biggest cornball boy scout in baseball walk in Freddie.

Again, I think all of this psychoanalyzing is a fool's errand. It's as simple as AA doesn't like giving guys in their late 20's long term deals and he has replaced those holes with lesser, younger players

1 hit and 1 walk. Both taken care of by double plays. 27 at bats. Disgusting.

He admitted that he had a deal in place to trade for Jack Flaherty but nixed it because the guys in the clubhouse thought he was too mean.

Sure, but he also traded for Chris Sale who had a more extreme reputation.

You're overthinking this.

I would say thank God we come home to the Marlins Friday but if we get Alcantara with our offense that's likely a loss.

I am curious with all of the posi-Braves who stood by the propaganda that the only reason we struggled last year was because of injuries.

Yes it's the first series, but are you still standing by that assertion and are you not at least a little bit concerned with how anemic we looked in all facets of baseball outside of starting pitching?

I think most everyone just jumped the gun with this team. This offense is still laughably bad and it is going to be that way until Ron comes back and frankly he has to be great for the offense to turn a corner.

The pitching is probably going to be good enough to win most nights once strider is back.

But neither of those guys are back and playing the best teams in the NL without them is going to be brutal

The starting pitching, yes.

If Strider gets back to 90% of what he was before the injury, I think we have a better 1-2-3 in the rotation than anyone in baseball.

Bullpen is god awful though.

Said before the season that my biggest concern for this team would be who is bridging the gap between the starters and Iglesias. Frankly, that is still my biggest concern.

You’re not going to hear from them. And if you do it’ll be all about “small sample size”. As if all of last year + 4 games isn’t big enough.

That's why I'm making it very clear that I'm not concerned that we got swept in March. That's meaningless.

How we got swept is the more concerning part.

The concerning part is that literally every single hitter was arse which tells me it’s not just 1 player in a slump but a larger thing happening to the entire team. And yes i don’t even know what to think with the bullpen

Shoutout to Michael Harris II, who might have been the worst hitter in baseball this weekend. He looks completely overmatched at the plate.

It is tough to single out 1 player for a 4 game series but I think most people hoped he would take a huge step forward this season and was one reason to be very excited and it’s looking like he might just not be good
