Late round QB'S rarely work out

Then how is Burrow at the same number with more games missed than Tua?
Better QB and no injuries that will impact his play moving forward.
Tua is a concussion away from everything looking different.

The Dolphins don’t want to pay Tua 55 Mil.
They want to pay him 58 Mil?

Tua is one bad pass away from being a crippled.
He came out in the same draft as Burrow, started later and still has played more game than Joe. If Joe and Hanson are getting $50 million+ AAV then Tua should be right there with them.

Burrow has more risk to miss games with that OL
Stop with this fiction. St. Jeaux's offensive line is no where near the bottom of the league. It's been about average. The Dolphins OL has been horrendous.

One more game than Joe.
Joe has thrown 16 more tds with the same amount of ints.

No he should not.

How many playoff wins Tua got? Lawrence got? Burrow got?

What’s Tua’s record vs +.500 teams over the last 2 seasons? Something like 2-10?

quote:If they can remain healthy like they did last year they are a middle of the road OL which shows with last years showing. I just don't know how many years you can expect your starting 5 OL to start and finish all 17 games for you with less than 100 backup snaps. If they can replicate then it will by far be the best line they have had since drafting Burrow. I think Brown is an upgrade for them over Williams, but still think their guard play can be suspect at times especially against the DL in the North. If they have injuries and have to start playing Mims though then it could be back to the Ole play we've seen out of them too many times when everyone was questioning why they spent all the FA money on Defense and ignored protecting their franchise QB.
Stop with this fiction.
quote:They have been the past two seasons which makes giving Tua the money an even tougher decision knowing you are one play away from him being forced to call it a career.
The Dolphins OL has been horrendous.
I'm not a Burrow apologist. I recognize his skill, but even with what is often a below average line I've called out that he doesn't help them at times by holding the ball for a split second too long.

Switch their teams and TLaw wins a playoff game, maybe 2.
Just last year Lawerence wins the London game and makes the playoff game competitive as opposed to Tua. Dolphins would be stupid to invest heavily in Tua.

How he is not crippled from the hip thing he had at Bama is really amazing

Yea he was 1-6 last season and 4-5 the year before that. He's a below avg QB
Posted on 6/27/24 at 2:42 pm to Madking
I wouldn't pay Tua top dollar, personally. But, I wouldn't break the bank for any QB. History just doesn't support it.
Posted on 6/27/24 at 2:51 pm to Gritz
It isn't. Tua's biggest risk right now is sustaining concussions. Burrow's are an emergency appendectomy, a calf strain, and a torn wrist ligament. You can usually repair ligaments and rehab strains, you can't repair someone's TBI.

quote:FIFY. In 2020 a QB was made the highest paid NFL player ever. Since that deal said player 1x MVP, 4x CCG appearances, 3x SB appearances, 2x SB Titles, and 2x SB MVPs. I agree that paying Tua, Lawrence, or even Burrow more than Mahomes is not something I would do, but Mahomes is worth whatever he asks for and has shown that. If he asks for 65MM, you give him 65MM.
I wouldn't break the bank for just any QB.

He's one concussion away from never playing again and when he does play, he's not exactly dominating teams.
He lead the league in passer rating in 2022 and was 5th in 2023, but yeah he’s not dominant at all.
