Serena should have just taken the point penalty and moved on

Yes but she didn't. She turned it into a shite show

I saw an umpire give two penalties in a grand slam final that aren’t called penalties even on the challenger level

I have no clue how you aren’t faulting the umpire

The funny thing is that she DID see the coaching.

Watch it again. He gives her the signals, and then he clearly catches her eye.

THEN he nods emphatically, indicating that they had communicated ... albeit non-verbally.

But the point is, Serena got the violation then just kept on melting down

That I agree with. It’s on her 100% but the screwing that lead to the point and game were what I take issue with.

Yikes, she's not even excited about winning because of all this.

Yes, they give the umpire a plaque during the trophy presentation

Her engrish is bad.. But she's a sweet girl, it seems.. And you can tell that's she's kind of deflated. That sucks.

Unbelievable poor sportsmanship from the crowd at the trophy ceremony, booing.

This is Naomi's moment. She was going to win, despite the penalties

Yeah, no kidding. Even the Aussies would not pull this sort of malarky. US open takes home the award as the trashiest of the slams, as usual.

It really does. The first person from Japan to ever win a Major.... Deserves to be applauded.

Not some shite from a player with a very bad attitude

Blame Serena and the Chair Umpire for Osaka not celebrating her US Open win like she should.

Her English is fine. She has lived in the States since she was three.

She is very upset right now, but normally speaks without any discernible accent.

She was asked straight up how reality matched her dream and dodged it.

That just plain sucks. She's bummed by all this.
