Game against Costa Rica effects whether Costa Rica make it or goes into a playoff with Argentina or Uruguay? Right?

Ecuador still has an outside chance. I have a buddy who's from there and is devastated that they lost

If Ecuador beats Chilé and Uruguay beats the Maradonas, then Ecuador goes to the playoff against either Honduras or Costa Rica.

Ecuador's chances rest on how hard Chile comes to play. If it were Paraguay (who are notorious for laying down after qualifying), Ecuador would win this game 5-0. But Chile has a different mentality, and they want to grab every point possible.

Certainly not out of the realm of possibility for Ecuador to get a win, but I think they'll be hard pressed.

Uruguay, meanwhile, should be able to take care of Argentina at home. Argentina managed to struggle at home against fricking Peru, and if the Bolivian referee had any nuts whatsoever he would have given Peru at least two penalties in that game.

Uruguay will win, and I think Argentina will end up in a playoff with Costa Rica (USA will beat Costa Rica, and Honduras will finish third). Ecuador will be left out.

I figure Bob will go with a competitive lineup, but with several changes just to see who steps up under the spotlight.

Something like this

Guzan

Spector Gooch Bocanegra Cherundolo

Feilhaber/Bradley Torres

Holden Donovan

Cooper/Davies Altidore

Ecuador talked alot of shite before they beat Chile earlier in qualifiers. Biesla will not only have Chile ready to kick some arse, but he will try his hardest to make sure Argentina gets in, since he is a native. It won't be easy for Ecuador at all. Can't wait to end their hopes of making the World Cup. I'm thinking it will be Uruguay and Argentina, but who knows which order it ends up.

USA to play Denmark in Aarhus November 18 as a friendly per Grant Wahl's twitter. Great job scheduling this game for experience. For whatever reason the Danish FA must have friends with US Soccer because we've played them like three times over the past four years.

Yeah he's gonna crash his Aston Martin into the goal and then exit unscathed and drop his pants.

Another Beowulf Bendtner fan!

That should be a good game. I hope that Jermaine Jones will be healthy enough to play by then.

Has he even been cleared to play for the US team by FIFA yet?
