In areas that are just now getting the sport I'd agree with that assessment. But areas that have had it for 20+ years I'd say that's wrong.

I've nver understood baseball players' hatred of lacrosse. This is a real thing. The baseball team at my high school HATED the lax team. Just hated them.
I felt it was a weird sport for the baseball guys to hate. It's not like they had anything in common, really.

It probably stems from the baseball coaches' hatred for lacrosse.
It takes away from their talent pool. Same with track, and boys volleyball.

Seems like it would be fun to play but it's un-watchable to me.
This is it's biggest hurdle. It's not as condensed and fast as hockey, nor does it have the loyal following hockey does.
It is an absolute blast to play, though. Lots of us football players played it in the offseason, was fun and got you in great shape.

Or maybe they wanted something a little more physical?
Lacrosse players, midfielders specifically, are 10x more athletic than baseball players.
Great sport because size is secondary to quickness, technique, and skill.

Lacrosse players are not 10x more athletic than baseball players. Haha. How do you even conclude this?
Lacrosse is very difficult to watch. It will be just like soccer. Soccer is only watchable for big games like the World Cup, and even that is difficult to watch when there are no marquee names

It's a dumb sport that Northern kids taking super seriously to make themselves feel like real athletes.
It's essentially a bunch of guys running around with sticks, hitting each other. Dumb sport is dumb.

Agreed. Hard to tell who has the ball.
I don't care enough to really figure out who has it. I like the look on the goalie's face when he gets burned.

It's generally a rich kids sport, hence the Northern.
And the sport that lacrosse resembles the most is Basketball, with elements of Hockey (physicality, penalties).

I have always said it like hockey above the waist on grass.

This is why football will remain king in U.S. built in breaks for ads.

Easy, I've been to both sports in person. Baseball is sedentary by comparison.

The baseball/lacrosse fight is hilarious for me. The lacrosse companies are still small enough to have edgy ads. I mean can you imagine a Nike ad with Kevin Durant or LeBron in drinking champagne with models in a hot tub or wearing a pimp outfit coming out of a private jet? That was essentially the crux of the Maverick ads with Danowski and Rabil a few years ago.
Anyways, all of the lacrosse companies make sure their guys trash the hell out of baseball in interviews. I think they view baseball as by far the most susceptible sport for their target demo (5-15 year olds from Charlotte to Boston, and then out to Ohio, plus Denver).
Basically all of the guys who play lacrosse at the big schools were first team All-State or at least All-County guys in football, if they play the stronger positions, like SSDM, LSM, or Defense. I've noticed a lot of the smaller, skilled guys have soccer backgrounds, as well as hockey.
I know Duke had a defender who graduated last year who started 4 years, who turned down an SMU football offer, but I don't think that's really common yet. People like Myles Jones still really stick out in college lacrosse, and not because of his race.

I'd turn down June Jones too.
He was such a lazy arse that some kids found out they had SMU offers via twitter b/c the fat frick didn't take the time to call them.

Boring as hell on TV to me but I also thought that of soccer which is now my favorite sport to follow. I try to keep an I open mind. Seems like it would be fun to play.

At my school it was all the stoners and rejects who couldn't cut it playing football or baseball

Sorry, but once you get to high school, you cannot be unathletic and play baseball.
Just look at LSU's baseball team as an example... every outfielder and every middle infielder will be as athletic (if not more) then the most athletic lacrosse player.
Perhaps you meant lacrosse players are 10 times more conditioned, which I won't argue.
