OG Icegators GOAT. They had some really good teams but never could get over the hump. That loss to the South Carolina stingrays in the kelly cup finals was heartbreaking for a youngster. Especially having to watch them celebrate on the Cajundome ice

Rouge Kingfish games were awesome. Cam Brown needs a statute somewhere in Baton Rouge.

We need to start a go fund me or a petition to do this. Hopefully he’s never said the N word or had sex with a drunk girl

Not going to happen however I’d rather minor league hockey than the NBA here. I’m probably in the minority though.

I think the Ice Gators still have the top all time winning % in echl history. No Kelly Cups to show for it unfortunately

be nice if they could win something every now and then. I support the Pelicans, but they are a frustrating team to support. The casual fan isn’t going to support them just because they have a top 5 talent.

I was hoping that Tampa would put their AHL team in NOLA to be in close proximity of the main team. I doubt Seattle would do it since they have to establish farm teams.

Unfortunately it’s never coming back.

Would have been cool to at least see the Hornets rebrand as the Brass instead of the Pelicans.

Y'all remember "Oreo?" His name was Anthony and he would sit right behind the opposing team's penalty box in the Auditorium. Talk about heckling!! Lord have mercy. THEN the opposing team's locker room was not big enough for them to do anything but change. They had to come out into the hallway to sit together and cover what they had to cover with only a curtain for separation.

People would scream at them all intermission long and get louder as their dressing room was in the largest public area by the biggest concession stand in the place.

I always liked that old building, and it was so small, that the rink was more narrow than even a normal hockey rink. It led to even more collisions and, thus, fights.

We discussed this a few days ago, when the Brass moved to the arena, there was no other regular tenant. When the NBA came in 2000 or 2001, that was it for the Brass because SMG did not want to hire a third shift to changeover from basketball back to hockey.

The Auditorium had been renovated, again, after the Brass left, to restore its intended purpose as a venue for concerts and more importantly, Mardi Gras balls. There has been nothing done to the building in 13+years since Katrina.

you can't really do anything to buildings when they're tied up in litigation awaiting FEMA money
