Lol. The Big ten had 8 teams that won 9 games or more and they went a combined 10-5 in the post season. I wouldn’t say that’s 1-3 up top with everyone else struggling.

Great, the SEC had 7 teams win 10 games. It doesn't mean that there wasn't a vast difference between the few at the top and the rest of the field. There was a massive drop-off from between the quality of Oregon in third place and Michigan in 4th. Opt out riddled teams don't mean much in the non-playoff post season anymore.

Now, the Big10 has 7 or 8 teams with deep pockets and like I said, that will be a huge advantage for them going forward.

You said these leagues have 1-3 teams up top and everyone else struggles. 8-4 Iowa lost to Indiana and Oregon by a combined 7 points. Games decided on last plays. Same Iowa team that physically manhandled 10 win Vandy and led by 2 scores most of the way.

USC is loaded with talent but can’t find a DC to save their arse or they’d have been a playoff team.

Not being a true national title contender =/= struggling. These are leagues loaded with really good teams capable of beating almost anyone, no matter how hard you wanna try to discredit them.

Sorry, I come from the entitled Alabama perspective, where if you aren't contending for a title you're struggling. I see this years version of Alabama as a near catastrophe. Your perspective is clearly different.

They're losing a top 10 pick at offensive tackle and a top 10 pick at defensive end. Both of those guys could realistically end up going top 5.

Another defensive end Mesidor is now supposed to be a first round pick as well. Last several games he was the most dominant defensive player.

Miami has been loading up for years, they are not rebuilding they are reloading.

The U is officially back.

People talk about Indiana being old, but Miami's starting lineup is just as old.

I think Mensah is a slight step up at QB, but they will be replacing a bunch of really good and experienced impact players on both lines.

Who said they were contenders, bird brain? I’m saying they’re not all struggling. According to this thread, top 20 teams with one score losses to national champions and semifinalists are struggling.

I don't think there will be any sort of continuum with teams as we had before. I don't see Miami going away, at least not while they are deeply committed, but having to rework rosters on a yearly basis means that getting the formula right year after year is nearly impossible. Back as in regular playoff contention, sure. But not back like 80's and late 90's / early 2000's era dominance.

Alabama and Ohio State about the only programs in the country that should feel that way. Few programs are capable of 0-1 loss title runs year in and year out.

With Mensah at QB they’ll definitely be favorites to win their first ACC championship. Although they’ve been favored many times in the past.

Struggling to compete for championships not struggling to get bowl eligible

Miami is one of many teams who will be contending in the ACC. It’s wide open. Miami got hot at the right time but that does nothing for next year. Cristobal finds ways to lose games. They are losing a lot of good players and Mensah is not a savior.

lol kentucky might could contend for the ACC

What a typical, dumb SEC comment.

Louisville, who ended up playing Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl, beat Kentucky 41-0 playing nothing but backups.
