You're a fool if you think Miami doesn't have a chance to beat Indiana

Miami can beat Indiana. They'll need to play good sound football though.
No turnovers.
No more than 3 penalties for around 25-30 yards.
No more than 1 or 2 "3 and outs".
Stay within a score at all times.
Keep Indiana under 100 yards rushing.
Make Mendoza throw to beat them.
Get 3 or 4 sacks.
Force 2-3 turnovers.
Find a way to get Indiana to commit dumb penalties.
Stay within a score at all times.
They could have a chance to win this thing

I think they need to score more points than Indiana to win

Plus they'll have the Murphy's Law/Diabolus ex Machina gods on their side. Basically any time an all-time feel-good story seems more likely than not to happen, some supernatural events occur that put a stop to it.

Hopefully the fe fe's don't abandon Miami.

Miami can't lose. Google it.

Duh. Anyone can win at this level in a single game setting. Injuries, turnovers, fluke plays. Lot can happen in a football game

Of course they can beat them. IU barely beat Ohio State, Penn State, and Iowa. Would it be an upset? Yes. That's why they play the game.

lot of my podcasts feel good about them...josh pate picked miami straight up. ari and andy both took miami vs. the spread.
i personally think miami will make a few boneheaded mistakes that will cost them the game, but we shall see.

Miami is probably the only team in the country that can match the physicality of Indiana, but the Hoosiers just play perfect and the Canes had a ton of penalties last game. I think it will be a battle but Hoosiers are a machine right now

Beck needs to have around 20-25 pass attempts for Miami to win. Anything more than that and they are toast.

Indiana has caught fire these last few weeks but I wouldn't sleep on Miami
Indiana barely beat Penn St and played a tight game against Ohio St in Bigt Ten title game
Miami beat Ohio St and is more then capable of giving Indiana some problems
Plus they are at home

Miami is very good at controlling the ball and being methodical... Problem is they struggle when it matters, converting long drives to worthwhile points...
...they had a 7-minute drive against Ole Miss that yielded a FG....maddening for Miami fans.
They also had two ground game drives killed by false starts (if your goal and purpose in play calling is to get in 3rd and 3 , false starts are gut punches.
Miami should've put Ole Miss away in the 1st Half, completely dominated them but was a game at Half. If Miami can just put it all together, mistake free and don't give IU short fields and cheap points like Oregon among others, they definitely have the team and certainly the talent to win...problem is the disparity in game day coaching on each sideline.

I find that is the best strategy to winning football games.

My faith in the outcome is based on Miami's offense, specifically Beck.
They have been trying to beat themselves for weeks and play not to lose with a strong D, ala Saban prior to his '11 NC game
Beck is not going to be able to make plays against this Indiana D and Indiana will score with Mendoza
Also a factor is Miami injuries and depth due to them.

They can absolutely win. Miami has the beef in the trenches to match Indiana as well playmakers like Toney and if they get good Beck, they have a decent shot to win.
But if they make one mistake, it's over. Indiana is.so fundamentally sound that Miami has to execute perfectly

Very much my premise. I am curious to see if Miami can get it done though. They are very stout.

quote:Cristobal is underrated. He has had some clock management issues but has also shown improvement. Look at the end of the ole miss game for example.
problem is the disparity in game day coaching on each sideline.
Cristobal is Saban/Kirby like in motivating his players. As a big under dog best believe they will have a chip on their shoulders and will play every second with their hair on fire.
Cristobal has beat Ohio State at the horseshoe at Oregon without his best player. He is a borderline elite game day coach as he continues to improve his clock management.
