Whatever. Goodbye to him if he wanted to go.

Dude is wealthy, travels the world, enjoyed the finest things in life, and practically didn’t have to actually work. And he was suicidal?? The frick?

The people who get up every day and actually work in stressful and or physical challenging jobs are not offing themselves in a rate equal to his level of “challenges”. They have a beer at the end of the day and get up and do it again.

If you are a movie star, singer, or tv host to that is wealthy and without a care, you are not tormented... you are spoiled. You don’t want the attention? Well don’t pursue fame. You don’t want to be ridiculed? Well don’t get into politics or something else divisive. You want to be left alone? Buy a rural estate and leave Hollywood, NY, LA, etc.

as a father of a young child, this is why my empathy for this guy is limited. very selfish...ruined this little girl's life for no good reason.

Another surreal thing about that night was that Jessica Lange was there with a guy and another couple. No interaction between her and Bourdain at all. Not surprised in some ways he committed suicide as he wasn’t a very happy person from the looks of things.

Dude banged a bride he didn't know still in her wedding gown. He was a POS albeit an entertaining one.

Call to mind when Eddie Vedder was doing an MTV interview around 1995 and he says some ridiculous horseshite like "Man, you don't understand just how hard it is to be famous. It's a lot of work, and sometimes I don't know if I can handle it."

Fine. Go back to Seattle and work at a Starbucks or paint houses.

Dumbass.

I can't imagine how dark a mind must be that suicide is a preferred alternative to life.

Never watched an episode of his show but sorry to know that life can be that unbearable for some.

I'm going to guess this is going to be the first of many egregious and disgusting posts on this thread. I think this thread will be the definitive one on why this board is filled to the brim with awful, stupid, and horrible people. Anthony Bordain was a fricked up guy who had tons of demons. I don't think Trump was one of them.

The guy has probably had more impact on how people look at the world than anyone else in the past decade. This bad loss to society as a whole, because he taught the country about the world, warts and all. He never sugar coated anything. Best job ever and I'm very sad about this. Probably the saddest I've been about a celebrity death since Robin Williams.

Rest in Peace you beautiful bastard.

You've clearly never suffered from depression. None of that shite matters. If your life sucks in your mind, then it sucks. Bordain was open about his demons.

Oh frick you. I feel for famous people on Twitter because people are constantly threatening to kill or rape them or abduct their children. People climb over their fence in hopes to have sex with them. Just because they're rich and famous doesn't mean they don't have demons and aren't subjected to some hardcore shite.

I never cared or agreed with Tony’s politics at all.

I can honestly say because of that he helped me look beyond his political opinions that there is much more in every person. He wasn’t just a good writer he was a great writer. Nobody will come close to doing a travel show that he put on.
Yet if he expresed his views here, some idiot would call him “filth” (probably several of them).

Good for you, for not demonizing everyone with whom you have political disagreement.

Jesus Christ, dude. Hyperbole much?

I'd say a solid 75% of Americans upon hearing the news of his passing, said "Who? Oh, that guy," once they saw his photo.

I'm assuming there was some kind of incident in the past that resulted in him criticizing Hillary's cooking.

I don't think it is. I don't think the average American had any clue about the differences in Asian culture before Bordain showed up. Name one person in modern America who enlightened Americans more about the world at large than Anthony Bordain. Don't even bother with any politician, because I can tell you they simply bottom feed to the lowest common denominator and know that the average person couldn't point to South Korea on a map. Seriously name one person who had more impact on how people understood the world at large.
