Amazon prime model. Give you something, then slowly take it away

Ads in movies are unbelievable for home viewing today. I get having them on basic cable or whatever. But streaming going that way for all tiers is insane. Especially with Blu-ray’s and dvds going away slowly. Most people don’t even have players anymore.
So if streaming companies ad advertising to movies, and physical media does finally collapse, what is going to be the legal option to watch a movie uninterrupted?

If you’re comparing to buying physical copies, you can still buy/rent movies on iTunes etc.
I don’t think the death of physical media is really a factor.

I was actually thinking earlier that it may only be a matter of time until purchased digital content has ads.
I'll lose my shite
I still have a huge physical media collection, though.

Read the TOS. They note that some shows will have ads even if you pay for no ads. Normally it’s “new” shows that Peacock isn’t the sole owner of.

About once a year Peacock will be showing ads for me, I just sign in/sign out and it’s back to normal. Paramount plus started showing their own ads before you watch a show with no way to stop it.

Same. It’s a little tedious canceling the popups to start off, but once it’s set I’ll AirPlay it to the TV and I’m good to go.
I have a list of 5-6 sites. Some work one month but not the next month. Trial and error.

This was inevitable. The streamers have to make money at some point

You will own nothing and like it.
You’ll buy the digital content, and they’ll force you to have to watch it with an internet connection so they can push ads though
