Someone beat me to my first answer, Phoebe Cates coming out of the pool and popping open her top in slow mo, dripping wet, with The Cars She Moves in Stereo blasting in the background... I was 15 years old, a friend and I snuck in to The Broadmoore Theatre to see it. frickin' perfect.

Close seconds:

- The final scene in Shane
- Dirty Harry's famous "I know what you’re thinking: “Did he fire six shots, or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I’ve kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Do I feel lucky?” Well do ya, punk?

Sully going after Taruk Makto, fade to black, then landing the big monster in the People's lap. (I'll probably catch some heat from this one, but frick it, I like Avatar)

Jack Nicholson's scene in A Few Good Men where he is on trial. The " you can't handle the truth" scene is one of my all time favorites.

Apacolypse Now: Ride of the Valkyries playing while bombing a Vietnamese village was awesome and my clear favorite of all time.

A distant second is the ending of Inglorious Basterds.

I saw some great ones on the first page that I agree with, then I stopped reading. If not already mentioned, the shower scene in Psycho was amazing for its time. I still throw open the shower curtain mid-shower sometimes just to make sure no one is out there.

I thought the bar scene at the end of Unforgiven made a just good movie become all kinds of epic. "Well he should have armed himself if he was gonna decorate his saloon with my friend".

Yea it's available and it's only 70 minutes long so it's an easy watch. It's one of those movies that is more appreciated for it's influence on film rather than it actually being a great movie or at least that's how I look at it.

True Romance.

the scene with Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper was just fantastic. I played the background music during that scene at my wedding.

If someone is going to mention Inglorious Basterds, the opening scene is great, but I think the Bar Scene tops it.

Getting in late, so a lot has been taken. Here's a couple on straight acting and script:

And Justice For All - When Al Pacino yells to the court: "You're out of order! You're out of order! The whole trial is out of order! They're out of order!" (The closing courtroom scene was filmed on the first take.)

Scent of A Woman - Pacino again, this time addressing Baird School.

- When the Aliens start attacking the Marines in Aliens
- When John Elder whacks Curley in the face with an axe handle in Sons of Katie Elder
- The blood "testing" in The Thing
- Never answer the phone scene in Memento
