Not gonna lie...before the advent of the MCU, I had never even heard of the Avengers. I knew of the X-Men and Fantastic Four in Marvel and of the Justice League in DC, but had never heard of the Avengers.

I don't think I had ever heard of the Birds of Prey until Huntress was introduced on Arrow back in 2012.

I will never listen to anyone that uses this as a "word".

They were referencing the full name of the movie which is Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

If tbis was actually good, it wouldn’t have been released in January

Thank goodness this film wasn't released in January then.

There's like a zero percent chance this is true.

frick, I'd never heard of them either. I don't keep up with comic book shite.

I mean I knew about a few individual characters like the hulk and Captain America or whatever but I didn't know they were called the avengers.

Before 2008, the only comic book I had ever read was The Death of Superman. Since that time I have added The Killing Joke and Watchmen to that list.

Bottom line, I didn't read comic books about superheroes when I was a child and watched only a few of the animated shows (all of which were based on DC Comics). I didn't know what X-Men was until I saw the arcade game at the skating rink and had a passing knowledge of Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four.

So no, I had no idea what the Avengers were until I looked them up on Wikipedia the night I got home from that first showing of Iron Man all those years ago.

WOM is apparently bad in Asia. South Korea box office is off to a bad start.

Good.

Hopefully that trend continues in America because I'm tired of this feminist BS Hollywood is flooding us with.

Grace Randolph's review is included in that total and it should tell you everything you need to know. She said it wasn't bad or good, but gave it a fresh rating because it was important for females to have representation in film.

The reviews on Twitter are all positive that I've seen. I'm sure this will change. Even those on the fence seem to like it overall.

I didn't know anything about them before the Marvel movies. I knew most of the individual super heroes, and groups like the X Men and Justice League, but not the Avengers. I'm sure I heard the name before and it just went over my head, but it's such a generic name, it doesn't stick out.

Well there you go. From now on I'll gauge films by her reviews. Thanks for the heads up.
