if Todd doesn't accept pay right now, it's not like he's making a huge sacrifice. He seems like the type who wants to prove himself, make it in the big leagues of crime. He wastes a few days of his life and he can make money that is unheard of in the square world.

Jesse gives his cut to Kaylee out of respect for Mike since he doesn't seem to care about the money too much.

I agree. I think some people are just so used to Vince blowing our minds that they come up with ridiculous theories. Mike did a background check on Todd, I trust Mike, so I think Todd is legit.
Not only do I think that he's legit, but I disagree strongly with all of the people that say Todd is going to turn on Walt. He isn't the smartest guy, and the reason he killed the kid was because Jesse said before the heist that no one else could know what happened. I think he's the kind of person that would be perfectly happy being the help in a low-key but very profitable situation.

Anyone else notice that Walt has the drug dealer call him Heisenberg at the beginning....and Heisenberg goes to the rio grande to meet Mike...but WALT most definitely showed up as soon as he pulled the trigger.

This show's run has been unbelievable

I love how almost everyone was annoyed by Jesse early on in the show, only to see Jesse as the most sensible, likeable character BY FAR now. Great writing. Love the flip. Jesse is in control and Walt is now the lose cannon "using" in a sense, getting high of power and control.

I don't get why Walt is so obsessed with keeping Jesse around. I know he needs the extra pair of hands but he obviously wants out. I think Walt will lash out at him again when approached about the money he is owed. Jesse says something really mean, so Walt tells him he poisoned the kid. Jesse hurts someone close to Walt, shite hits the fan.
I think Walt feels a very strong bond with Jesse. They went through a ton on the show if you think about it. Jesse is kind of the only person Walt has left and he wants to keep him for that reason.

It has been a very good evolution. He was very changed by his latest girlfriend and her son. For the most part I've only seen each breaking bad episode one time each, and pretty excited to go back and watch everything again after the yearly finale next week.

Just wanted to reiterate this, since some folks said they thought Kaylee got to keep the money and this was only said once. I think Kaylee's 18th birthday is gonna be pretty shitty.
Yep, Pop-Pop ended up getting killed trying to stash back money for her that he had already stashed back.
IRL, that's the way it works. Drug dealers hurt thousands and thousands of people. The background on Mike kinda throws a wrench in all of those emotions though.
All she'll likely get on her b-day is that sealed letter. I don't see Walt making it long enough to be able to drop a Mil or two in her lap. Jesse would but Walt is dicking him over too.

He's somebody he can easily manipulate and control. Walt's been a wimp with low self esteem his entire life. Controlling Jesse makes him feel like a man. He lost his temper and ultimately killed Mike when Mike insulted him with the "known your place" comment.

I think Walt may end up as Danny Dravot did for very similar reasons. The very beginning of this season hints at a similar fate. For any of you who have not seen "The Man Who Would Be King" - it's a damn great movie.
Nice comparison.
Forgot about that great movie.

I don't keep up with BB as intently in some as here do so forgive me for this, but aren't/weren't there rumblings about a movie?
If so, I don't really think I like that and it makes me uneasy about the finale next summer. This season is shaping up to be the best yet and I can't WAIT to see how the whole story concludes. But in the back of my mind there's this thought that we could get dicked around, like there's some massive cliffhanger looming and then it's like "to see how it ends, head to the theater in October for the breaking bad movie!"
But surely vince wouldn't dick people over like that right?

Jesse is all "Walt" has left. No family, no friends, nothing else. It has been very subtle, but the subtext has been Jesse is the son Walt always wanted, ie without the handicap. I could support and explain that, but it would take a LONG post.

Pretty sure we all have time, and I for one would love to read it.

I keep wondering if we are ever going to find out what kept the Cartel from killing Gus??? They referenced it several times, and I keep thinking that somehow whatever or whomever it was is going to come up and bite Walt in the arse.

No doubt. Might be the first time we've seen the real Walter White since "Crawl Space". And I doubt it's the last time we see him.
