Wife was watching this the other day, had forgot about show, so i caught several shows with her, and wow:
Lea Thomas got hosed, the writing on the show was brilliant, really good plot, stories, etc, but the casting was horrendous, other than Italian eatery, owner.
rest were terrible, and doomed lea from having a hit show. It should of been a hit, but man oh man ,was the casting terrible. I loathed everyone on the show, but Lea and Italian guy.
What say you:

I remember liking it and not having a problem with the cast. The nineties were a sweet spot for sitcoms: Wings, Seinfeld, Frasier, Just Shoot Me, News Radio, The Larry Sanders Show, Roseanne, Married With Children, Fresh Prince, Martin, Coach, The Simpsons (when it was actually good). Today is a hollow shell of what was.

Watched most of it during its first run and enjoyed it. From IMDB:
At one point, Judith Light, Brooke Shields, and Catherine Lloyd Burns were all considered for the role of Caroline Duffy before Lea Thompson was cast in the role.
Jon Favreau, Craig Bierko, and Greg Kinnear were considered for the role of Richard Karinsky before Malcolm Gets was cast.
Jorja Fox and Lucy Liu were considered for the role of Annie Spadaro before Amy Pietz got cast.
Could definitely of been a much different show with any of those changes. Also, if Jorja Fox gets cast it probably would have completely changed the trajectory of the original CSI.
