I was drinking, is have to be tripping to find it funny....
I laughed out loud a few times but mostly at the nostalgia, like when the servant broke out into song, some conversations with Semi

Nice nostalgia trip.

Not the worst ever. Not great. I had a couple laughs through the trite plot, but let's be real, the first one wasn't exactly a deep plot, rather a series is satirical sketches. I wish it had more goofy murphy/hall minor characters. The comment about the comparison to the recent Bill and Ted is spot on.

Wasn't amazing but was better than I expected. Definitely some funny moments.

Doesn’t hold a candle to the first but anyone thinking it would is naive. I enjoyed it for what it was. Sexual chocolate was the best part. Love that they were able to pull so much of the original cast for even the small bit parts like Oha, the sexual chocolate band members, etc.

I was fully expecting peak blackness but gosh damn if they didn't raise the bar im good. I made it almost halfway

All told; it was a fun trip down memory road with some old friends. Didn’t hate it; didn’t exactly love it either. And I’m okay with that.

Loved the odd to Prince with “get up”
Posted on 3/5/21 at 11:12 pm to gizmothepug
I was enjoying it until the focus was put on the prince character. I didn't like that dude at all. It felt like a movie that transitioned to a shitty tv show. So I bailed a little over halfway thru.
But some of the reviews here make me want to watch the end.
Update. I watched the end. Not bad.

It’s getting old feeling like I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel of OnDemand movies because I’ve seen everything I really wanted to watch.
The writers worked harder on social justice than they did at comedy. Changing Places spent 116 minutes sharply jabbing at classism and racism while never letting the viewer forget that the knock out punch was unapologetic comedy. C2A2 waved the Dukes at you then hit you across the face with a white privileged racist bat just to cram in a scene that served no purpose other than for those watching to say, “Oh shite, thats the heir to Randolph and Mortimer Duke’s fortune!”
If Eddie Murphy’s gut and lack of comedic presence didn’t remind you that this is 2021 and not 1988, the writers spared no ink to remind you that women aren’t going to bark on command anymore. They might wait on you more than patiently or still be bathing sex slaves, but this is 2021 dammit, so here’s Leslie Jones getting the sand cleaned from her clam by her own man slave.
Speaking of Jones, I’ll stand alone on this island. Thank you Leslie Jones! Your character, or a little too often as is the case - caricature, allowed me to squint past the Pg-13 rating and save us from watching Eddie in another “MF’in” Shrek movie.
Like most sequels and reboots that dig up the bones to movies we loved, this movie reminds us that Hollywood’s only talent is selling out to nostalgia by dancing out familiar corpses and ripping out the guts of what made it special.

Just finished watching it. I wasn't expecting much but was still disappointed.
Enjoyed catching up with the old cast. When the story focuses on them it moves pretty well. Especially liked the cameos and nods to nostalgia.
Unfortunately the new cast is shite. Not funny at all, especially the son and daughters. So predictable and annoying. Film drags whenever they are on screen.
The SJW stuff actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Mainly a completely unnecessary scene where the son is interviewed by a white guy for a job. What was the point? Unfunny and alienating. Dumb move Eddie.
Overall, worth a view if you enjoyed the original and have childhood nostalgia for it.
All others should skip it.

Just finished it and it was ok, but I wouldn't watch it again.

Fell asleep watching it last night. I will try again maybe but what I watched so far is pure shite.

I didn't notice as much SJW as some are mentioning, in reality the only time was the forced job interview scene.
Outside of that it stuck to the first one which was Akeem looking for someone who wasn't just a puppet.
Leslie Jones did have some funny moments in the movie and she was also overbearing at parts in the movie.
The son and daughter were easily forgettable in this movie, hell the other two daughters were afterthoughts.
Best scenes involved the old crew getting together and scenes with Lisa.

Thought is was at best 4.5 on a 10 scale.
Below average movie, Wesley seems to have the most fun making the movie.
If not for the first movie from 1988 this is near unwatchable at times.

Yeah the whole OMG it's too much SJW something something on this board has gotten worse and more annoying than what they complain about.
At this point any movie that doesn't contain a majority white hetero cast with a strong white male lead is considered SJW.
