I think she could pull it off.

Before Star Wars she was mostly in TV shows and shorts... she had one full length movie credit, an apparently mediocre reviewed movie called Scrawl.

She was in two live-action movies between Star Wars films - Ophelia and Murder on the Orient Express. Both are 6.4 or so on IMDB. She also did the voice of Cotton-Tail in the animated movie Peter Rabbit.

Afterwards it's two video games, a few things in production (two list as "voice") and something called Chaos Walking due out next year with Tom Holland and Mad Mikkelsen:

quote:

A dystopian world where there are no women and all living creatures can hear each others' thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds called Noise.

She has some announced projects coming up:

A Woman of No Importance
quote:

The story of American spy, Virginia Hall, who worked for the British intelligence during World War II.

Kolma
quote:

A remarried widow is given an unusual offer to relive her first love as the end of her life draws closer.

FYI, one game she's done voice acting with includes Willem Dafoe and James McAvoy, called Twelve Minutes
quote:

What should be a romantic evening with your wife turns into a nightmare when a police detective breaks into your home, accuses your wife of murder and beats you to death..

Daisy Ridley and James McAvoy delve into their interactive time-loop thriller Twelve Minutes

She's the Hayden Christenson of this series. Not good looking enough to be the hot girl in romantic comedies, not a good enough actor to get more serious roles.

Disagree there. Hayden was always wooden and very awkward acting. And his emoting just always seems off.

Showing emotion or excitement or charm isn’t an issue with Ridley. She’s much more believable. The problem is she wasn’t an experienced enough actor to come off well in those shitty SW movies. Not even Isaac was able to.

That said.

I’d put good money on her netting an MCU role down the line in an X-Men project.

Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman all had stellar careers after the shite stains that were the prequels.

those are actually good actors, though you're overstating Ewan's career.

He has had two big misses on his big budget movies but had been fantastic in everything else

According to IMDb she is in 10 upcoming shows. Doesn’t sound like she’s hurting for jobs.

I think she is doing good although Star Wars wont make her a breakout star like Jennifer Lawrence or Margot Robbie i think she will last.

Don't miss the point because you like one character of his voice work. Look at Hamill's imdb. The only major movie he did between or right after the star wars films was The Big Red One. 6 years after Return of the Jedi he was the second lead in a Jesus Franco film, a notorious Euro softcore director. Next, Slipstream failed to to keep him relevant as a movie lead.

The star of a top 5 highest grossing film ever (adjusted for inflation) got very quickly relegated to voice work and cameos. Not great.

Watch honest movie trailers about her surprised face. You’ll never not see it after that.

This new trilogy was just really bad due to identity politics being pushed too much

No....

It was bad because of terrible writing, directing and no coherent story.

TLJ was so unbelievably awful that I barely even noticed the political angle it was pushing until after.

He found his niche and seems perfectly happy and is incredibly successful in it. Just because he doesn’t have a traditional acting career, doesn’t mean he hasn’t been awesome at what he does.

Besides, I’d imagine voice work has kept him far saner than most A-listers.

Hamill is the singular reason why the Joker is as popular as he is.

He’s also voice Skeletor, dome voices for Robot Chicken, The Dark Crystal, Avengers Assemble, DC LEGO video games, Transformers, the list goes on.

Being a successful, in demand voice actors is prolly one of the most kush, low stress jobs on the planet making millions.

Hamill will be perfect for Skeletor.

I was pleasantly surprised to see him pop up as a Templar leader in Knightfall, the Netflix show. He did a great job of playing a cranky grizzled warrior.

Don't let silly little things like facts get in the way of the hive mind's Disney hate fest.
