Only been able to watch the first 4 episodes of S02, but damn.. incredible stuff. Once things get moving by E02, the pacing has been on point and literally every scene is eventful/important. Glad to see them diving head-first into the world-building in terms of science/technical/philosophy with a main sci-fi element.
It's shaping up to be in league with Primer for time travel as long as the plot holds. It's so complicated trying to absorb everything at first, but in a good way reminds me of first seeing Inception and finally working it all out to understand.
Oh, and fraulein Agnes, young Regina(post-makeover), and Franziska are on point this season

I didn’t know that anybody chose dubbing over subtitles.
I didn’t know you could chose subtitles. How do you do this?
Although I’ve kinda become fond of the dubbing.

You just have to click on the options icon (looks like a speech bubble) and select subtitles from the menu. The bring up the options icon, you may have to pause the video or click/press the screen or remote/controller button, depending on your device.

I’ve watched the 3min recap a few times now, and still don’t really remember what’s happening.
I’m going to need to find an article with in depth character breakdowns past and present, with photos of tThe characters. It’s been too long, and so much happened in the first season.

Agreed, my brain kept trying to connect the lip movements with the English dub and I couldn't focus on the dialogue. In German with English subtitles is 100% the way to do it.

Watching this show makes my head hurt.

Be careful though. Some of it contains spoilers for season 2. LINK
there was a reference site that I used when reading A Song of Ice and Fire. you could select what books you have already finished and it would filter out all articles on people, places, and things based on that so you wouldn't be spoiled.

I’ve decided after watching a couple of recaps on YouTube that I need to just rewatch season 1. There are so many different things going on

Some things to keep in mind when you're watching this:
1921 is the year Hitler became the head of the Nazi party.
1987 Germany is the last election year before reunification.
The apocalypse in this show is a metaphor for the entertainment industry and the themes include pedophilia, back-stabbing, and cover-up.
Every single name is purposeful and used metaphorically (i.e. Jonas/Jonah = Truth bringer, Noah = saved mankind, etc.)
Almost forgot: keep in mind Plato's Allegory of the Cave.
SPOILER:
The kids and the adults are the same because the entertainment industry draws artistic people (people who have been damaged in some way) to it and then those same damaged people perpetuate the cycle of exploitation for each successive generation. This show is about breaking the cycle and starting anew, like the flood.

SPOILERS: Below is a chart of characters with pictures and how they are related to each other. This set is based on Season 1 so I don't think it should have any season 2 spoilers.

Just got to episode 5 season 2. Just had my “oh shite” moment of the season so far. Very similar reaction to the Mikkel revelation in season 1.

Wow, agreed!
This show is epic.
Edit: just read that the 3rd season will be the conclusion for the series. I really like that this has a definite ending.
Also read that S2 was released on June 21st, 2019 which is when Michael commits suicide. "While a date hasn't currently been confirmed, many fans believe June 27, 2020 is when the new batch of episodes will be released: that's the day of the apocalypse/the beginning of the last cycle."

After rewatching season 1 this week, I had forgot so much stuff since my first watch and I was reminded of how great this show is. Sounds like season 2 is just as good.
