I agree. The episode itself is just a throw away episode with lil dicky hoping the randomness of having brad Pitt and drake in it to make it awesome.

It wouldn’t have been bad if it was episode 3 or something. You can’t have that episode be your finale though.

No conclusion of any story or furthering of a plot. Just a random episode with him and brad Pitt against a crazy stalker

That’s how I felt as well.. we get 30 seconds at the end to
Show everyone’s progress with Ally moving out/gata buying his mom a house/ Mike dating the cougar and seeing his dad

Also.. for a second there at the end , I thought that long text he sent to Robin as he’s reading it aloud, it almost could’ve doubled as a DM he sent to drake also that got him to respond back

Also: what a horrid CGI elephant. That was beyond bad

I agree with most. Solid episode, but made for a less-than-great finale.

It did have a different feel than the rest of the season though, and it felt like it was mainly just a dream of Dave's to do something with Brad Pitt and this was the result of that. And I guess it was entertaining enough on that level. But in terms of the season and the story, it was pretty stagnant. And I kept wondering why neither one of the grown arse men didn't just beat the shite out of this kidnapper at any given time.

Even last year's finale with Dave's resolution with Gata and the awards show, that had a solid buildup and paid off pretty well. This one just felt completely random.

But Rachel McAdams still has it though. Damn.

When that bitch started scatting after pulling the gun and Brad in the booth was hilarious. I loved it fantastic finale i can't believe they got Brad Pitt and Drake. This show must be beloved in Hollywood if they can get those 2 frick anybody is possible.

Just rewatched and noticed Dave tell Pitt the short cameo was perfect on the music vid because he didn't want to overuse him. Then the whole second half in Dave's house Pitt is front and center.

I actually would’ve liked it better if Pitt was just in it for the few seconds of the video. Would be awesome to get someone of his stature and literally use him for five seconds.

Easily the best part of the episode. The crazy chick was sort of funny too though, very believable she’s a little throwed off.

I loved this season but kind of think the show is getting close to running its course. One more season is probably all that makes sense.

What a fricking finale. They had you going that the Pitt cameo would be five seconds. Then kept teasing. And he stayed for the horror of the later half.

My god. The Bella actress killed it. I hated her. Everything about her.

Pitt’s rap was lowkey fire.

The ending where they fake the whole audience out about Dave learning his lessons and instead he meets Drake was f&%king beautiful. It was like this whole season was an anti-character arc. Just pure beauty along with the symmetry of what he was saying to Drake vs what Bella was saying to Lil' Dickie. This is why this is one of the best shows on tv right now.

Lil Dicky’s manager is Scooter Braun. Braun is also an executive producer on this show. Braun signed Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber early on in their careers and is probably on his way to being billionaire.

This is how Lil Dicky gets everyone on his tracks, from Chris Brown and Kendell Jenner to Joel Embiid, Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, and of course, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande on his Earth song.

Imo Lil Dicky is by far at his best when he’s alone or uses his cameos for a limited and actual purpose (like Snoop Dogg on Professional Rapper).

First time getting on TD since the finale. Really surprised how many people didn't like it. I thought it was fantastic. One of the funniest episodes of the entire show. I was legitimately nervous when she pulled the crossbow out, something I never thought would ever happen with this show.

Pitt was so good. He sent this episode over the top. When him and Dave were whispering to each other and you couldn't understand what they were saying but Pitt sticking his finger in a whole and Dave whispering "you want to f**k her?" I lost it. Then right after she's pissing on herself.

I also want a full version of Mr. McAdams. That song is super catchy.

My only disappointment, which I've said in almost every post for two seasons now, is the lack of Ally. I mean he texted her that they are being held hostage and they don't even have her show up. Her only scene was 1/2 a second of her looking ragged packing up clothes. Her and Dave are too good together to keep leaving her out.

The episode was good. It just didn't make sense as a season finale.

And once again he leaves all of his fans holding their dicks wishing he'd release his new album. He publicly stated he wouldnt release season 3 until he was done with his album, yet here we are.

He wont even officially release his songs from the tv show. You just can find snippets n shite on youtube.

I read this article earlier, and it's the same old shite with whether or not an album is coming:

quote:

This search for perfection is this recurrent theme throughout the series. How much have you been able to identify that not just as a challenge to completing certain goals, but to some extent, an excuse not to when people are, say, asking about a new album?

I wouldn’t say making a season that examines the perfectionistic mentality has freed me of having a desire to be as great as I possibly can be. But it’s more I’m aware that there is no such thing as perfection, and that I will never be satisfied in life because the goalposts will always move. You’ll make a movie and then I’ll be like, “Well, I want to make a movie that is best picture now.” If you live your life trying to have certain benchmarks that are based in validation, you just simply won’t be satisfied because you’ll never have enough. And the theme of the season is, until you’re enough for yourself, you’ll never be able to find love and be happy.

And it only helps me be more aware of those things, and the more I talk about it with smart, intelligent people and the more we could tell stories about it. So whereas after Season 2, which was all about writer’s block and continuing an album, as soon as Season 2 ended, I was like, I’ve got to get back in the booth and finish this album. Now that I’m finished with Season 3, I’m like, let’s live life! And those lessons are a part of this season, and I do think I’ll take them into account as I move forward. But I obviously have not rid myself of my desire to be as great as I possibly can be. But if I was, we’d have nothing more to do.

quote:

So then, I guess my question is how soon will we get to listen to a new album from you?

My quotes and predictions on this topic have been so egregiously off base for the past three years that I feel like no one should even listen to a word I say, but just know I’m working as hard as I can. It’s truly not for lack of effort. The life cycle of a show is 11 months, and I’m the main guy in the writers’ room. I’m in every scene and a part of directing every episode. I’m in the edit every day with the editor. I’m in every color session, every mix. I’m composing the score.

So I don’t have a second to breathe from the moment we start the season. And that lasts a year, and then I only get five or six months, and then I go back into it. Luckily, what I did in the six months between Season 2 and Season 3, musically, was more fruitful than what I did in the five years prior to that. So I’ve evolved as a musician to where I’m better now than I ever have been, and when I get time to work on music, I can be more prolific. But it still takes time and I’m still not going to put out a body of work until I feel like it’s really the right body.

So looks like the whole "perfectionist Dave" thing is alive and well, and we aren't getting an album any time soon.

Honestly if he keeps pumping out the show at this quality I don't need new music right now

Yeah I enjoyed the season finale but didn’t like the abrupt wrap ups to the other characters. Pitt was great.

And yeah Dave needs to get this album out already, I need the full version of Mr. McAdams

It’s like he has severe ADD and starts a few lyrics with the beat and then moves on to creating another song. He’s George R R Martin of music,

I can't listen to an entire Lil Dicky album. Just too much talking. Like let me pause in the middle of the song, make a joke, and then back to rapping. I can handle his full songs in doses. So if him not putting out an album makes the show better, I'm all for that. Hate it for all the die hards though
