Is there a more poorly written character on TV than Deb?

"I don't give a frick who you frick, just don't frick with my investigation, you frick!"

That's her entire character in one line.

I suppose one does have to admit it doesn't quite rise to the level of "The Wire":

Bunk: Aww... frick.
McNulty: Motherfricker.
Bunk: frickin' frickin'... frick. Mmm. frick. frick frick frick.
McNulty: The? frick?
Bunk: frick.
McNulty: frick! Na-aw.
Bunk: frick.
McNulty: frick.
Bunk: Mother of frick! Oh frick. Oh frick.
McNulty: frick me, frick frick frick frick. fricker. What the frick?
Bunk: Fuuuck. Mother fricker!
McNulty: frickin' A.
Bunk: Mmm-hmm.
McNulty: frick. Motherfricker.
Bunk: frick me.

But that's who she is. A neurotic, insecure foul mouthed young woman. I actually like her more than I used to.

I like this season so far. I hope they don't;

1. Make Trinity Jr. Rita's killer. That would be DUMB.
2. Turn Dexter away from killing. That would be totally unrealistic for a serial killer.

Other than that, the season has me guessing more than any other season. The story can pretty much go anywhere.

+1. I used to hate her. For whatever reason I don't anymore. This season has kept me pretty entertained which is surprising bc I figured this would be a drop off season.

Whoa now. That's possibly one of my favorite scenes in The Wire.

Watched that episode yesterday. The actual dialog isn't what's important in that scene anyway.

Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. I think we're going to go in the other direction.

Yeah, the appearance of Brian leads towards Dexter going wild in terms of killing.

How about you quit being a douchebag and read a few posts more down the page before you make yourself look foolish again.

Trinity wasn't one to break his pattern. Killing Rita after failing to kill a boy would have broken it.

Everything Trinity did essentially fulfilled his pattern and the pattern would have been complete if Dexter hadn't removed the boy from the cement. He played with trains and listened to the music and drugged the kid. It's possible that fulfilled the need Arthur Mitchell had to fulfill his pattern and then kill Rita.

Also, all evidence points to Arthur being the killer of Rita. His attitude and comments lead to that and the antagonism between Arthur and Jonah seemed authentic. But abuse like that could easily have led to Jonah having a dark passenger and killing his sister and mother while blaming his father. It could set up Dexter to be a shepherd to Jonah and try to get him to let go of his dark passenger (ala become somewhat like Brother Sam).

I think Dexter is going to get really dark, becoming more introverted, less connected to society and go on a killing frenzy. How long that lasts I don't know but it could be the undoing of him, maybe it's what gets deb to realize dexter is a killer.

I hope he doesn't just go to Nebraska and kill Jonah, that would be too simple. I have no doubt that trinity killed Rita and if the writers even try to play it like Jonah did it I'll be pissed.

Ok it's been a while since I watched season 4 so help me remember. Did Lithgow get away or did Dexter kill him? If he got away it seems odd he would start killing again since he was so close to being done in, and if he died, are we just to assume that it's the son now carrying on the trinity killings?

Dexter killed him, but on the table, Trinity told Dexter "It's already over." Then Dexter finds Rita.
Dexter knows Trinity is dead. To the rest of the police and FBI, he's missing and they're still looking for him.

Gotcha. So are we the viewer supposed to assume the son is keeping this on? It seems odd that they would just introduce a new killer doing the exact same killing patterns as the main guy from a previous season.
