Why because we voted for attractive women instead of "classic beauties" aka ugly women you are told are pretty?

I have actually watched quite a few of the films in which these "classic beauties" acted in. I don't need to be told they were beautiful. I agree that a few of them are overrated by nostalgia but Grace Kelly is most definitely not one of them. I guarantee you that the final two actresses left in this tournament will still be active in Hollywood. Which I think taints this entire tournament because there are SO many more attractive actresses that came before them. And seriously, Grace Kelly > Kate Beckinsale.

I am not counting but I am noticing a lot of people voting for Connelly over Beckinsale.

WHAT IS GOING ON IN HERE??????

How is Beckinsale overrated? Please, someone explain this to me.

She ISN'T overrated. She's very attractive and she has an English accent. But the fact that she is almost assured of a spot in the championship round is pretty sad in my opinion. She's hot but she isn't one of the two hottest actresses of all-time.

i agree with everything you said here but

this isnt a fair criticism as most people werent alive when these "classic beauties" were in their prime so it is really hard to make accurate judgements on them based on black and white pictures from the great depression. add that to the fact most people probably dont know who most of them are as old time films arent a really popular genre so its kind of like just finding an old photo with some random chick on it and judging her solely on that

because she is way too surgically enhanced and there were about 30 + women in this tourney that are hotter.

Then don't include the "classic beauties" in this tournament. The average age on this forum is probably 23 and I doubt most of them have ever seen a movie made before 1960.

To Audrey Hepburn being knocked out of the tournament by Mila Kunis.

Whenever there are tournaments that involve voting, opinions mean nothing. It is all about the votes and nothing else. In your opinion, there has been plenty of beautiful women prior to today and I agree. However, when someone wins a voting tournament like this, it is all about popularity and beauty from those who voted.

If all men voted, things could end up differently but that is also tainting the votes. If we did this in France, Bardot would be in the finals. If this were England, Beckinsale, no worries.

So to say things like tainted isn't fair.

All that matters is the votes.

I had to get over Theron losing WAAAAAAAYYYYY too fricking soon but since the votes weren't there, I got over it. I think you are partially correct but to say this is tainted if someone OLDER doesn't make it to the finals, eventhough there are two women, is just not right.

there was a nomination process its not like it was a requirement to have them in here. not really seeing your point here. you dont think those that nominated them should have because some people on here are young?

I did not see Claudet Colbert in here any where. Natalie Wood, Bridget Bardot, Raquel Welch, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and yes even Audrey Hepburn, were well after the WWII, let alone the depression and all not only did talkies, but color movies. Most people have heard of most of not all of those women. Grace Kelly has been dead for almost 30 years. I guarantee you, 30 years from now, no one will know who Alice Eve.

She has had gum reduction, a lot of skin treatments, and (even though she denies it), there is strong evidence for nose and breast work. There are pics of her with at least three different breast sizes.

In Much Ado and Cold Comfort Farm she was cute as hell, but has really gone down the industrial Hollywood phony beauty highway since then.

Above average for Hollywood, not close to an all-timer.

YES, Connelly was hot, I am not arguing with you on that call.

I just don't see how Beckinsale can be considered overrated.
