Nightmare on Elm St. will definitely do the trick. That movie fricks with kids' imaginations.
The original that is.

Just play her the Paul Rudd ghost story from Role Models. That, or Pan's Labyrinth. Your choice

Want to scare her? Prank her.
Our oldest put a coon skin hat in the younger's bed. It scared her good, so for revenge and to help her out I put a Bill Clinton mask on a 10' trim board and knocked on her window with it. I didn't get a reaction so I put everything up and went upstairs.
The oldest was sobbing hiding unit covers in her closet with the doors shut.
Had to apologize big time.

SIAP, haven't read the whole thread.
The Ring is probably a good one.

Many of these movies are airing in the next few days, so I've got the DVR fired up to record as many as I can. Think I'll test the waters with something supernatural-tinged first (The Ring, Conjuring, Paranormal Activity, something along those lines)...if that doesn't do the trick (although I think it should), I'll move onto the next tier of movies featuring crazy & deranged lunatics, lol...

The Thing(1982)
all those special effects/ costume designs should do it. especially if she loves cute little dogs

Did you ever find a successful horror movie for your kid?

I second this, that movie freaked me out! If that won't scare her, nothing will.

I might not rule out The Exorcist...but I have a gut feeling she's gonna laugh more than be freaked out
Bump.
What movie did you end up watching?
I can't, for a second, believe any kids would find The Exorcist funny. That shite is freaky as hell. The music, the setting, the lighting, just everything is very intense for a kid.

I'm surprised Pet Sematary didn't get to her.
This. Horror is my favorite genre. I maintain to this day that it is one of the most unsettling movie atmospheres of all time. The Zelda scenes are legendary.

A Nightmare on Elm Street" traumatized the frick out of me when I was 11 and I already knew the basic story going in.
I forgot what NM movie it was, but when the puppet comes alive and turns the kid into a human puppet with his veins. That scene always stuck with me.

I've got several movies ready to go. We started with Paranormal Activity, and she had a brave face in the beginning, but the little bumps in the night started creeping her out, lol...but overall, she claimed she was only "a little" scared. So, I'm gonna try a couple more supernatural-type flicks with a little more intensity, then I actually was gonna try the 1982 The Thing...
