I respectfully disagree. In my experience, whenever two people are getting to know one another, one thing that always eventually comes up is people they somehow have in common. Whether it is people they both know or people they are related to or a combination.

Hell, around here even when the family or the neighbors are sitting around talking and gossiping, somebody is brought up and it's always like - yeah, you know that guy, his momma is so and so, whatsisname's daughter. Yeah, the live on such and such street.

Maybe it just comes from living in a small town. But that kind of stuff always comes up.

It seems unnecessary. It would be one thing if Dany had been close to him, but there's a strong chance she's never heard of him.

Reek will also tell Jon that he did not kill Bran and Rickon. Jon may have hope that Bran is still alive.

Pretty sure he already knows that Theon didn't kill Rickon.

Sam told Jon that Bran is alive too. They met when Bran passed through the wall in season 3.

but Theon being the cause of their leaving Winterfell absolutely attributed to Rickon's lack of knowledge of zig zagging

I just read Aemon's wiki page. He was 102 when he died, his father, Maekar died in the year 233, same year that he went to The Wall. Doubt anybody even remembers who he is.
I don't doubt that Tyrion has told her about Aemon.

Also, Howland Reed needs to get his shite together. I know his men are all short little frickers, but they're located at a pretty strategic part of Westeros. It seems that all he's going to do in this story is confirm Jon's parentage.

I could see Dany saying something along the lines that she would order Theon's execution for what he did at Winterfell if only Winterfell was under her jurisdiction. Maybe if Jon would just BEND period THE period KNEE period so that Winterfell was once again part of the Seven Kingdoms and under her rule, she would gladly order the deed and even make Jon her headsman for a day.

Yeah. Theon taking Winterfell was definitely the reason Bran and Rickon had to flee, which led much later to Rickon being captured. Of course, perhaps the Bolton's would have taken it anyway and they could both be dead. But I doubt Jon thinks like that.

So basically Danny has, so far pulled an Atlanta Falcons

Actually it would be the opposite, Cersei is out to the big lead early but is destined to collapse in the second half.

We've built this up for so long. Finally getting some confirmation last year. I feel like it is possibly going to be underwhelming. I do wonder how LSH is going to take it in the books when revealed.

I think LSH will be speechless.

One thing is for sure - if Theon doesn't already know that Ramsey is dead, he'll be hella relieved to hear it. If Jon doesn't kill him first that is.

You're thinking with too much modern bias here. Remember stuff like this was not at all uncommon in different cultures in the past. Egyptian kingdoms for instance

EDIT:

Oh and someone over on the fark board made this at my request the other day:

Incest was very common among royalty all around the world in real life. Most of these cases were more cousin incest rather than brother sister. But in their world, it was even more common. Dany's parents were brother and sister.

Yeah, the incest is over exaggerated in this series and in the books. Those kids would be fully retarded if their parents were siblings.

Agree we need someone else to help confirm Jon's lineage. I can imagine the looks Bran will get when he starts saying Jon is a Targ. They will think he's gone crazy north of the wall.

Howland Reed is going to have to come along in Season 7, but there might be something in the Citadel.
