How has nobody mentioned Eastbound and Down yet?

Scavenger's Reign hasn't been mentioned yet, which is definitely worth a watch.
But if I were to list my 25 favorite TV series of all time, HBO would have around half of them.
If you're looking for something fairly short to start off with, Chernobyl and Band of Brothers are the way to go for dramas.
HBO has quite a few great comedies/dramadies, but they're mostly lengthy. The aforementioned "Hello Ladies" is only one season, and is really good, but it's not on the same level as Larry Sanders, Veep, or Curb.
The Wire and Sopranos are elite tier, but will take quite a while to watch.

Signed up for HBO a few months ago.
If you have MAX, The West Wing and The Newsroom are both good watches, in addition to the other suggestions

It is literally the post before this one.

Obviously most every HBO show has been named (even Banshee, which I believe was a Cinemax or Showtime show, but is now on HBO/Max I believe).
So I just wanted to add some love for this:
Hello ladies is fantastic, especially if you enjoy that British/Stephen Merchant type of humor. That show was cancelled way too fast.
The movie is good as well.

I'm watching Gotham and loving it.
I loved Carnivale I think it's just two seasons.
Pennyworth is good too
Really enjoyed Tokyo Vice
Warrior is great too

I have watched almost all of them. Deadwood is a good one I never picked up this year. Entourage is a good (Basically Mark Wahlberg bio). Band of Bros has been on Netflix for a while. If have not watched it’s a must. Could not get into Wire for some reason. Might have to try again

A shame they gave up on it like Netflix.
