From time to time when my 7th grader does something idiotic I'll tell him...."You're what the French call, les incompetent."
3 bricks to the face/forehead from the roof of a 4 story brownstone would put you underground.

I have a 7th grader as well, and we watched HA2 last week. We counted the multiple times Marv and Harry would have died.

There’s a doctor with a YouTube page who does breakdowns of movies and what the injuries would really do/lead to in real life and a couple of Christmases ago he did the Home Alones.
I’ll see if I can find it.
ETA I haven’t found the specific one I was talking about but this one is pretty good

Man in the first one when Marv steps on those ornaments he does it so hard. And how did Kevin know he would be barefoot? There's no way he could have predicted his movements. Then when he's walking off he steps on a couple more. Man at that point just go down to your knees.

He put the tar on the steps knowing whoever walked on it would have to get their feet out of their shoes and take off their socks to keeping going because their shoes would be stuck followed by their socks after taking a step in them.

He could have put the ornaments there by the window as an alarm system of sorts to alert him an intruder had just entered from that window. Marv being barefoot was just gravy.

Possible but then why leave the window open?

Peter McCallister is a world class idiot in HA2.
I've seen the original Home Alone dozens of times but probably only seen 2 maybe twice, one thing I had forgotten about until recently...
At the end of the movie the dad gets furious at Kevin for running up a $967 room service bill.
Granted in 1992 that was a tidy sum for most families but there's two things going on that makes this ridiculous.
1. It's obvious the McCalisters are extremely wealthy.
They live in basically a mansion outside Chicago, they can afford to fly their large family around for Christmas vacations every year, etc. Thsts one thing adults always notice about the movies and people speculate wtf does this guy even do that he's clearly loaded.
2. Are you seriously going to be mad at your kid using your credit card in an emergency situation to survive?
Aren't you just happy he's ok? You're really going to blow a gasket over him slightly overspending in an emergency situation?
Kevin was completely right, his family is a bunch of trash.

I've actually never seen it until tonight. We just watched it with my 10yo boy and he loved every minute of it.
He also loved the first one.
Solid movie but Kevin should have at least invited the pigeon lady up to the suite for Christmas morning.
Old man Duncan really hooked him up !

The McCallister family sucks
You are viewing the movie now as an adult. When it was made to be viewed through the eyes of a child. Through Kevin's perspective. Of course the family sucks. They left their kid home alone during Christmas time.
