Thor and Dr Strange can compare, but that’s it. She can perfectly project and manipulate energy.

As with the comics, they are powered as necessary for the story.
One of the complaints about Superman - too powerful.

This is also consistent with the comics.
Pop fiction in general struggles with the scalability of magic. You have to walk that line between deus ex machina and actually providing a real threat to the character.

I mean, the guy went toe to toe with Thanos for a good bit there while Thanos was wielding 4 stones and he just had one. Also shows how powerful the time stone is and how strong Strange is.
I have no problem with Capt. Marvel coming in hot as one of the strongest as long as her movie does a good job outlining why.

In the comics, Drax the Destroyer was literally created to destroy Thanos (hence The Destroyer moniker).
He could stand toe to toe with Thor or the Hulk and was one of the few creatures Thanos actually feared (with good reason).

Dr strange threw the mirror dimension at Thanos and got a nothing burger for his troubles.

At least Strange has consequences to his body when he uses powerful magic. In “The Last Days of Magic” arc, Wong has a bunch of monks dedicated to absorbing a lot of the sickness Strange should be experiencing. Strange doesn’t know this as he wouldn’t allow it.

Yup, that's why I put him right under the Hulk and Groot.
Groot and Drax are pound for pound two of the most powerful guys in the Marvel universe. Groot more for his utility and Drax for his sheer strength and durability. I was pissed in the first move when Ronin was whipping him like a donkey and he has been reduced to comic relief. Groot only shows his power here and there too.
Scarlett witch is one of the most powerful people in Marvel too. They make her into a wuss in the movies. She's more powerful than her dad, who is considered one of the most powerful mutants ever and can almost stand toe to toe with the Phoenix. In the MCU she picks up cars and plays tricks on people...
