Marvel Studios didn’t make the list, things are looking up.

5. Madame Web
What was "woke" in this besides it had women? They weren't even superheroes, they ran around scared the whole time then the Pepsi sign killed the bad guy.

A valid point. Just "women" doesn't make it woke in the least.
It was just bad. And the villain wasn't even a white guy.
So, not so woke at all, but simply bad. Gotta agree. Maybe should be a woke dishonorable mention, and replaced with Echo instead.

Well yeah but with weirdo rage bait youtube accounts you never know.

But why?

If you believe this, then why would you suggest this…

How'd Madame Web do at the box office?
Pretty terrible.
Fans of comics and good stories in general hating on terribly written movies and shows qualifies as 'weirdo rage bait' how/??
And 'why' woke? Well, for no damn reason other than 'reasons', these 3 girls are Spider women with zero context given. Because 'women!'. And they're not even Mary Reys, or Mary Sue's, but still manage to bumble their way into the beating the bad guy who has some sort of undefined superpowers. He's NOT Spiderman either. It makes no sense.

Because Madame Web is weak 'woke', if it is at all. Mostly just bad.
Echo, on the other hand, is stronger woke BS, imo.

What made it any element of woke though?
My understanding from folks that watched it, it was just really bad.

I've explained it 2x.
I shall not explain a third.

You explained it in an edit that I didn’t see until after I posted.
So just “reasons”. Wow.

But they really aren't though. Did you watch the movie?

But they really don't though. They beat him because the one that has powers tells them where to run then a sign falls on him.

It makes no sense.
It was but it's in no way woke unless you think the presence of women, they aren't even strong women, makes it.

How do they explain how they get their powers then? Other than a flash-forward cut scene, what is SHOWN about them as Spiderwoman?
Where's the backstory?

So that’s part of the problem with lists like the OP. Some of the properties deserve to be there. I won’t argue against that.
But then you have something that doesn’t and critics want to call it “woke” when it’s not. It’s just bad.
Everything featuring a woman isn’t woke. Sometimes it’s just shitty writing/production.

How is that a woke issue and not a “man that’s some shitty writing” issue?
