In reality, they are holed up. In old city courthouses digging through deeds and land records to find out who owns a tract that will probably end up being a dry hole anyway. They are also on the road like 200 days/yr going to small county after small county in search of untapped leases.
If the pay is huge that sounds pretty cool. I love cool shitty little towns.

Damn.. this looks pretty solid!
I'll check it out just for the actors alone. Its basically another spinoff "Dallas" storyline.

Watched it based on everyone at work raving about it and couldn’t stand it

It was a good opening. Tommy's opening lecture about another industry to the waitress was classic. The Mother/Daughter comedy act continued to deliver.
I was wonder how they were going set up Demi Moore's character as Monty's widow and I like the direction they took it.
There's a lot to unpack but we need a few more people to chime in first.

I don't think Sheridan particularly likes Texas women of a high social strata.
Seems like all they are about is using sex to marry into money. Then he had the daughter spouting Nazi type eugenics about marrying a quarterback to the TCU admissions officer.
Why the hell is she going to TCU?

I dunno but the line from the admissions officer “If I had the power to deny you admission I’d do it with so much enthusiasm our psychology professors would want to study it” had me laughing my arse off.
Along with BBs line “they got mosquitoes so big they could frick a turkey standing flat footed”
That was an enjoyable episode. Ali Larter is so damn fine

...and it doesn't disappoint. Just as dumb as it was last season.
The dinner scene was really lame.
Let's throw pasta and then talk about having sex.

The interview with the admissions lady was hilarious.

The only reason they call it “Landman” is because “Project Manager” doesn’t sound quite as pithy. Because what Tommy does is way more in line with project management than being an oil company landman is.

This scene was hilarious until the pasta throwing. Their reactions to the truffles was amazing

100% true. In reality, he’s a combination of about 4-5 different roles.
The son counting his millions after 1 well was a little ridiculous, too.
Starting the season with a rant about breakfast was outstanding, and totally on point. I laughed out loud

Daughter isn’t getting a 29 on her ACT and being that stupid. Once again, Sheridan loves the mother / virgin / slut / bitch archetypes and can’t really write anything else when it comes to women. Whatever. It is what it is, but the mom /daughter are caricatures at this point.

The less screen time they have, the better the show

^^^This.
They ruined it by going too far over the top.
Loved the episode otherwise.
