Seems like things were much more stable pre cell phone when people went to work and got back home whenever they got home.
Nowadays you out of pocket for just a few hours and people assume you are dead and start to rage.
Worked with a dude back in the Nokia brick phone days whose wife would call every hour and if he didn’t answer would call the main line and have him paged.

She sounds like a catch.

Didn't get bikinis, but the spandex will do.

Man I get so tired of the smarter than everyone girl boss shite from Sheridan. One single attorney isn’t going to go into that room. Especially if it’s a company as big as the one she’s representing. She’s not as bad as Beth, who may have been the worst written character in tv history, but that shite gets old to me.
Especially considering that the smarter than everyone female attorney has never once been in those types of conversations and you’ve got your seasoned attorney who knows that language like the back of his hand sitting right next to her. But sure. Let’s let the rookie, spunky woman go talk to those people.
Don't care.

The ex and daughter are definitely over the top caricatures of bitchy, self-absorbed women but I think they're funny. They could be more realistically written but I live in a house full of the real life variety and I don't need more from a tv show.
I assume the Sonrisa guy is the cartel boss from the S1 finale?

Great point. Furthermore, the one person that outwitted her and sent her fuming was Cooper when this college drop-out "kid" busted her up when he was able to up the payout from 250K to 1 million.
Rebecca as a lawyer is a Jamie Dutton type of character that know the law exceptionally well and can spout of legal facts make other look incompetent.
Right now her character is wat too one dimensional as this pissed out lawyer chick that gets triggered as everything and they need to show a more "human" side to her characters because as someone else noted, she's no Beth Dutton.

EP. 3 Dropped.
It was a good ep but I have to wonder if the show starting to get away from itself like a Taylor Sheridan show often does.
I don't get Ariana taking a waitress gig at the Patch when Cooper just got her a million dollar settlement and she has a baby. Since she broke it off with Cooper I guess they had to find a reason to keep her on the show.
I see why Monty had multiple heart attacks before dying. He was playing money moving games that was catching up to him which is why I'm guessing he wanted the company sold upon his death.
I'm not sure I like the drug kingpin wiggling his way into the oil business. Why can't he be an old fashioned drug lord?
I like more of the unique stories of the oil business like the hunters that died from hydrogen sulfide gas exposure. That was crazy. I looked it up and there are about 6 deaths per year from this shite.
Then there is the dad story kicking off...
It's like they trying to throw every crisis for Tommy to handle and it's becoming overkill..
Last year was a bit more of a slow burn and we need to stay in that lane.

The guy could play Satan and make you like him.

Yep. He adds depth to the show that's needed right now.

quote:Yeah, the title of the show is very misleading.
It's incredible how the rest of the country will now belive a Landman is some kind of oilfield gangster/fixer because of this show.
Tommy is not a landman, he’s a VP of Operations or the General Manager. But I guess that “Oilfield General Manager” wasn’t a sexy enough title for the series.

The way it works is Tommy is a landman but he was good enough to rise to the position of VP Operations. I haven't seen the first geologist yet in this oil company. It's got one petroleum engineer. Small payroll.

My take on the show.
I love Tommy. No bullshite, straightforward, tells it like it is and is a smart and savvy guy.
I hate his crazy fricking ex-wife and ignorant slut daughter.
I hate the Mexican widow bitch.
I don’t like the attorney bitch.
His son is a moron.
I like Andy Garcia.
Other than that, I really like the series, mostly because of Billy Bob.

Oh, I was going to say you were done with it at three episodes.
The Ariana/Cooper story was good in season 1. But now she has to sew her oats in S2 while Cooper has to just exist in limbo.
And now it is obvious MTex will find funding with the cartel. And some bad stuff has to happen. Maybe the lot gets arrested.

And, Andy brought this along with him.
